  • @gamingmaster14 Umm, no. You know what outsourcing is? Its when they send calls from dell to India and people there deal with your technological problems. btw? all your PEBCAK

  • This look like shit...

  • What's the distro in the red one?

  • I am always looking for new ideas with social media and youtube. Your video has given me some great inspiration.

  • i dont get why anyone would want to be limited to just internet doesnt make sense

  • @FloridaFilmsOnline Well, there are so many online google apps that you could do pretty much anything you would do off your hard drive, be it gaming (But I think gaming will be a lot more limited, but really this OS is for tablets and netbooks so that's not too much of a problem) but you can do word documents and email and music listening and all that stuff from extensions that people are making for the OS or by just using other online services

  • That tablet reminds me of Always Innovating Touch Book which is amazingly the same price and runs the same OS's as well as it's home-built OS.

  • 5 months have passed since anything really interesting has come from Google on Chromium. When can we expect to see more?

  • the linux one doesn't really look all too responsive, and the touchscreen doesn't seem to do all too well either

  • WTF am i looking at here,.. These douche bags are talking and not showing a thing. Sorry but so far not worth my $199.

  • Are all you people born brain dead? this is supposed to be a mobile touch device, yet his entire user interface is built around using a mouse and keyboard, look at him fumble with his fingernails trying to navigate this horribly conceived UI.

  • I love The Chrome Browser! I can't freaking wait for this OS!

  • @BigTysHouseOfRants You can get the OS here: chromeos [dot] hexxeh [dot] net

I'm experimenting with it right now.

  • Neat concept devices! They are a little glitchy. But then again they are just concept devices. YAY AVATAR!!!

  • It looks pretty good, I suspect some of the "glitchy" video is the cheap video camera used to try and film the screen.

    Not an uncommon problem.

  • guys, this video is FAKE. two tablets on idontknowwhat OSs are connected to a PC thats running chromium os via remote desktop. proof? 1.the shaky and trembling screen resolution 2. that guys using a keyboard and a mouse, which are probably connected to a pc under the desk or sumwhr else.

  • html5 vid needs some refinement with the ability to jump ahead, but overall nice h.264 quality

    can Internet Explorer die already?

  • @mohawk5010 it can take flash with it when it does LOL

  • Holy crap..Terrible video.. and it is 14 minutes long... Terrible promotion of the product. If you are making a video about your product.. talk about your freakin product. The title of this video should be called "Some random boring talk about browsers." UMMM and if you are going to promote your product.. make sure you have a good WiFi connection first not one that is "totally slow". And the guy making the video just sounds like he wants show off what techie stuff he knows.

  • Chromium is all about browsers.

Getting it to work at full speed on ARM Powered products is a very big deal for the industry.

WiFi never works in trade shows.

  • @johnesponet all charbax's vids are like this.. maybe he's more interesting in his native language..(you've got two non-native english speakers here c'mon...) but, if you want a looky, and you want to hear some specs.. well, there it is.. device shown at 3:33 ...UI at 6:03

  • Damn slow WiFi connection. :(

I know it's the WiFi, but someone that doesn't understand will think the device is at fault. Feel bad for him..... :\

  • WiFi never works in consumer electronics trade shows cause thousands of devices and routers interfere with each other within few hundred meters.

  • those indicating lights on the top would annoy the fuck out of me.

  • Out a strip lo black tape on them....

I have bad eyes, and light "shoots" out in "beams" if it's too bright. ESPECIALLY at night. So at my desktop, I have a strip of electrical tape over the LED on my speaker. Hey, not pretty, but it works.

  • Put a strip of....*

    Sorry, I'm fucking tired,...

  • wow great to see

  • the camera man is all up in this guys face lol.. You can tell its making him nervous.

  • @robdun Linux=dick

  • @TotalGameMaster Linux=Dick larger than yours! MWAHAHAHA

  • Hey I just saw RAY!!!

Gee I wonder what he is doing there?

(come on, you know you want to say it)

    :P =3

  • the screen doesn't actually look like it does on the vid cameras do that to screens also this came out before the ipad design

  • Oh good to thnx

  • lol go breaking nyc

  • who would buy that?!

  • @thedotiskewl75 i think that it is for people that want a tablet, but cant afford an iPad)when it comes )

  • @Pedjamadafaka plus this one has flash and camera. pretty sure it can be hackintoshed some how..

  • @Octavio681 I must have missed the flash demo..

  • @Pedjamadafaka nop, this is for people who like to see flash application on the tablet (like youtube)...

  • @thedotiskewl75

smart people, because It has flash support... (youtube and other good stuff) and it is multitasking... meanwhile ipad is not haha

  • I want the linux one

  • Chrome OS runs on the Linux Kernel.

  • I know

  • cool.

  • everything runs on the linux kernel...

  • yup, that's basically what I said.

  • Android or Mellos? seems to be the best choices in my eyes for OS. ChromiumOS is limited right now, due to not being able to function properly(or not at all) without an internet connection.

  • Now you just need to be hired by the cloud company to skim all the customer data and take it back to your home country and use it as your own.

  • Runnign things on the cload seem scary

SERVER ADMIN!!!! A DLL IS MISSING REINSTALL THE SOFTWARE PACKAGE ASAP!

Whats taking you so long I could have installed it myself already and you are installing for other users?!?!? Hey I need our cloud reinstalled you crashed it because of lack of ram!

  • cloud? not android :)

  • Fabebook.

  • The problem with the cloud is that the person doesn't control the files on in a physical form *on location* which makes for a major security vulnerability.

  • @yourtechgeek no one cares, fuck off.

  • Chris... STOP POSTING VIDS FROM THIS IDIOT - go interview them yourself.

  • @markhimself Well this event that this guy is at is actually in Barcelona

  • How would chrome OS work with out internet connection 0.o

  • it probably wouldn't work, since ti only is a web browser

  • I don't. It is an OS designed to be part of a cloud server.

  • thats the thing, it wont

im pretty sure a hacker will get android or linux on there

  • What the fek will 7 inch screen do for you.

  • crap

  • im de 14th commenter

  • Looks pretty nice, but I think I'd rather shell out the extra $300 and get an iPad. That would provide movies, apps, music, a place to save things....

  • Or get a real tablet from MSI or ASUS for the same price, but with double the storage and twice the features.

  • @bretw and 4x the thickness/weight..

  • iPad doesn't support Flash... what videos?

  • @falconFIL

It has a youtube app...and theres not much need to go on any other video sites, but who cares anyways, Flash sucks. Unstable piece of crap lol ;) HTML5 for the win.

  • Flash in on the 90% of the web pages... not sure about HTML5, it is going to be interesting to see how it goes.

  • HTML5 can't "win" if it's not being implemented, which will take years. Until then, I'll skip the iPad and go with a Flash-compatible tablet. No Flash = no Hulu, CBS, Fox, Comedy Central, etc. Steve Jobs has spread anti-Flash propaganda to protect his iTunes video revenue. Flash ain't great, but it's how one watches TV on a computer, at least for the next couple years.

  • Well luckily for me i cant get stuff like Hulu, CBS, Fox etc. because i don't live in the US...and i do agree with you, it is how one watches videos on the net, but still its really unstable, and i really do prefer watching videos in HTML5

  • You convinced me to join the YouTube HTML5 beta. It better be good!

  • @martyyu it's still only beta remember, it still has a few minor bugs.

  • @martyyu I kind of agree with you, but Apple has managed to make the iPhone and iPod Touch very successful without flash support. I suspect html 5 will be implemented rather quickly, especially for video sites as it is very simple to embed video files with it.

  • I hope so. I love my iPhone, but I'd love it more if I could access more content.

  • I agree even for most websites that run flush,

  • @martyyu It's not how I watch TV on either my mobile device or my computer.. Your TV tuner uses flash for some reason? My android, just like everybody elses, doesn't have flash either.. so I can only watch h.264 streams just like on the iphone..

I have flash on my ps3.. but all it does is lock up youtube constantly.. hulu hasn't worked in almost a YEAR.. catch up to reality man.. If you don't bitch, adobe will never get off their ASSES and fix things.

  • @rockbandmidi You should participate in the Flash beta if you want to bitch at Adobe. The 10.1 beta is actually a huge improvement over 10 and the developers were quick to respond when I encountered problems.

  • Are you talking about on android? I CAN'T I have an HTC hero.. and there are a lot of mofo's out there just like me who are a little pissed off about flash, sprint, and google dangling bait, getting us on the hook.. it's been months, no 2.0 update.. and, as we now know, the hero is too weak to support flash.

I'll say what I said in 2007.. why can't adobe dev a flash BROWSER FOR IPHONE? (a self contained app) of course we're all still waiting for adobe's iphone dev tools promised in october.

  • I'm guessing that Adobe can't do a Flash browser for iPhone because it would mimic the functionality of Safari and would therefore not be allowed. That's the curse of the iPhone: Apple forbids competition against their core apps - which run fairly well - but it stifles innovation. For instance, it's idiotic that Google can't publish a Gmail app and instead I have to access it through Safari.

Frankly, I'm pissed at Adobe and Apple and Google (but I continue to use them).

  • I hear you on that brother! I own the CS4 suite.. can't stand that I MUST use gmail on my android.. and pissed i can't get my ipad RIGHT NOW! Seriously though, my iphone has 1 scratch on the screen.. from a damn PENCIL I kept in my pocket to write crap like tracking numbers down before we had copy and paste.. NO COPY AND PASTE!?! That's a LOT more ballsy than no flash LOL.

I have a half dozen alternate browsers on iphone.. most suck, but they are allowed in the app store.

  • All browsers on the iPhone are based on the Safari. Stoopid Apple.

  • Meh

  • lol
