I didn't even realize Osaka was supposed to have a rural accent until I switched the fan-sub group I was watching, because they made more of a point in phrasing lines in such a way that it's simpler than other character's speech. Then, I actually bothered myself to look up stuff about Osaka, leading to their accent, to confirm my suspicions (which were that an "Osaka accent," or Osaka-ben, is like a North-American accent versus a southern one.) Hooray for learning things about other cultures!
