well, i was talkng about my mercedes, for going faster. and chrysler did shut down completely due to a lack of plastic interior parts, a smart is quite capable of crusing at 70+mph, i was trying to keep mine at 60mph going home, and if i didn't pay attention, i was up to 70mph. the smart cuirses that smoothly at higher speeds, and quietly. my old metro let you know how fast you were going by the noise it generated. i had no radio and couldn't tell when the smart went from 60mph to 70mph.

my 1986 mercedes would blow a '95 neon off the road, it's made to CRUISE all day at 100+ miles an hour, and it gets about the same gas milage as a frikkin neon (i had a neon rental once) mercedes was "smart" to dump chrysler, talk about a loser car, chrysler just shut down all it's plants!

The problem with the light bulbs is that it's impossible to replace them by hand! I think you even need to remove the front tyre to do this. So you go to the mechanic and you end up spending 80 dollar changing your 10 dollar lightbulbs. Not nice!

This Smart car does not offer proper leg protection in a crash. If you look for the video here on youtube where they crash one at 70mph, the cars windshield is intact and the doors open, BUT the leg area was completly compromised. I don't want a car that may make me an amputee in a car crash thank you very much.

and if you listen to the chap in the video, he quite rightly says that it doesn't matter what you drive, crash at 70 and you're pretty much dead anyway!
