Any review to be done on the new Epson 3010. sure hope so... I'm holding off on a purchase to see the comparison between the Epson 3010 and the optoma hd33.... Can't wait. And your videos help so much great work keep it up. Thank you!!!
But how many there are and how relevant are such scenes in a movie?! I can't see how can the 8700 be worth an extra £500. Am I missing anything? Is the Mitsubishi actually a lot better than the Epson 8350? Help would be very appreciated :)
Do you think whether the 8700ub is worth the extra $500 than the 8350 for the better contrast ratio.im mainly going to use this for movies and gaming in a dark room. Also what screen would you recommend for this projector.
@arvindfirepaw1 Hi there! Short answer - yes, the 8700UB is worth the extra $500. Long answer - the 8700UB has better contrast ratios than the 8350. This leads to truer, more realistic colors. If you're into gaming, the 8700UB's 120 Hz refresh rate will provide a much smoother experience. Fast action scenes will also appear less jerky. Let us know if you have any other questions!
I was undecided between buying an entry level projector such as the Mitsubishi HC4000 or buying the more expensive Epson 8700. I crossed the Epson 8350 as the entry level option because most ppl say that the blacks and overall image is better on the Mitsubishi. But now, and according to this video both Epsons (8350 & 8700) throw a stunning image and apart from the totally darkened scene I can hardly see a difference between the blacks from both projectors!
hi i have about 1800/2000$ budget , i think about buying the 8700ub ... but i was wondering if there is a 3d projector that could be very efficient for both 3d and 2d ? ( i don't care much about 3d.. but after second thought, why not ? ... it could be pretty baller .p )
I really like this clip. I Never payed any attention, at all, to "contrast ratio's" but after seeing the demo here really opened my eyes! Thanks guys.
@bujoun76 Hey there! You can't control the lens shifting from the remote on these Epsons. Let us know if you have any other questions. We're more than happy to help.
Great presentation!! Very simple and effective. Seeing side by side comparisons are so much better than a person just telling you what they think!! keep up the good work. I will look to see if you have a 3D projector comparison.
Rodney, this is a great comparison! Couls you tell what mode you were using during the presentation? Were all projectors set in dynamic mode or living room mode or in any of the theater black modes. That would help a lot. Many thanks, Marek

I just ordered the 8350 from projectorpeople after watching this video. I may have some mounting questions once it arrives sometime next week! Can't wait!
After much research I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the 8700UB from you to replace my worn out InFocus SP5000. It arrives tomorrow and I can't wait. I also steeped up my receiver to the new Pioneer VSX 1120K . I'll pair this to my Klipsch Quintets and Polk 10" sub to process content from my PS3 player onto an Australian Opal 98" screen. This projector should be the crown jewel to my dedicated theater room. Big thanks to Donna at PP...great C/S and help with billing and shipping.
@whiskey2go Yeay! We know you'll love the 8700UB. Why don't you send us photos and a review when you get the projector set up tomorrow? We'd love to see it in action!
Awesome review. Thank you. I have been anxious about dropping $1,300 on the 8350 plus screen, ceiling mounts etc. However, the total cost roughly compares to a 65" LCD or Plasma. I would agree with the other reviewer that the 8350 seems to provide incredible value for money. Thanks again.
Thanks for this comparison and overview. Watching the 8350 and 8700UB side by side finally, I'm really thinking the 8350 gives you the most bang for the buck in that $1000-$2000 price range. If I had a $2000+ budget, the 8700UB hands down is the value leader.
Best review I seen. Thanks

Hey man how do you compared lcd technology vs dlp tecnology? What produced best image?
moi623 2 months ago
You state UB as being "ultra bright" The UB stands for Ultra Black which is why the image has better contrast ratio than the other two.
theripper121 2 months ago
@projector people Which HDMI splitter are you guys using there?
MrHitalk99 2 months ago
UB means "ultra black" not "ultra bright." A lot of people make that mistake.
