Neat bulding, very unique. I wonder if things like this will ever become reality? In a country like Canada, there is really no need, we have plenty of space already.

There should be more buildings like this in Canada. Look at cities like calgary, there is so much urban sprawl, we waste so much space and create tons on tiny towns creating one large city spread
did you know my grandmother's sister won a newspaper contest to name the complex "habitat" and for it, she got one of the first apartments in it for free for 1 year with option to reup, which she did for 33 more years till she died in 2001
Thank-you. I was looking at images of the construction, plus the finished product of Project Habitat 67' in "Time" magazine source images online. They have amazing photos of the units, the building, ect, all made when it was new. Your family photo albums must be looking pretty cool Patrick & Frani.
The goal of "Habitat 67" was to ensure the same comfort and "freedom" that a house (let's say a bungalow) provides, with the population density of the urban environnement. It succeeded! The only problem is estetic: the cement is awfuly ugly...

Not bad for a town which has some pretty creative architecture. Note how the Habitat dwellers solved the private-balcony problem...

You forgot one thing. It was supposed to be inexpensive too. The inexpensive part however did not come true.
