@tine214 Goycoechea became an overnight sensation a year earlier. During the 1990 World Cup in Italy, he replaced the injured Argentine #1 goalie Nery Pumpido in Argentina's second game, and turned out to be one of the stars of the torunament. He saved quite a few penalties in that tournament, and became an instant #1 in Argentina's goal. He remained their starting goalkeeper from then onwards.
