We re-elect Congress every year. They have a 99% re-election rate. This one fact means elections don't matter. The function of Congress today is to create situations that require bribes and to collect them. I haven't seen this on FOX, but I have seen a lot of wing-nuts for ratings. So I won't have respect for them until I do, ok?
Before you commit yourself to that statement that elections don't matter, ask yourself how many people turn out to the polls on election day. What you will find is that on average, less than 30% of voters in America vote. What that means is that the blame lies solely on the American people as a whole. If the voting turn out averaged 80-90% then we would all be living in a much different America.
Every election you see this big media circus about a handful of "contested" elections. The vast majority are in reality "uncontested". Once in, it is almost impossible to get someone out of Congress. More people voting in uncontested elections means nothing. All the media take part in this charade . Every decade or so there is enough turnover to switch parties, but the vast majority of Congress returns So if you think FOX is "holding the politicians accountable" you are wrong.

If you saw Hoffman give any speeches or watch him in any interviews, it's abundantly clear that the guy has ZERO charisma or communication skills. Plus, he didn't even live in the district and wasn't very clued in to the local issues. I think those are the main reasons that he lost the election - and not his strong conservative views.

We re-elect Congress every year. They have a 99% re-election rate. This one fact means elections don't matter. The function of Congress today is to create situations that require bribes and to collect them. I haven't seen this on FOX, but I have seen a lot of wing-nuts for ratings. Before you commit yourself to that statement that elections don't matter, ask yourself how many people turn out to the polls on election day. What you will find is that on average, less than 30% of voters in America vote. What that means is that the blame lies solely on the American people as a whole. If the voting turn out averaged 80-90% then we would all be living in a much different America.

Every election you see this big media circus about a handful of "contested" elections. The vast majority are in reality "uncontested". Once in, it is almost impossible to get someone out of Congress. More people voting in uncontested elections means nothing. All the media take part in this charade . Every decade or so there is enough turnover to switch parties, but the vast majority of Congress returns So if you think FOX is "holding the politicians accountable" you are wrong.

TYT, Bill Owens, the winner in NY-23, got 49% of the vote. Scozzafava was more liberal that than he was in the race and she endorses him and Dems still couldn't get a majority in the district. Republicans fucked up because they put up a candidate their base wouldn't support. The left voted against Lieberman in Connecticut because they knew he would fucked them over. They were right even if they did lose. The Cons were right about Scozzafava as soon as she endorsed the Dem in the race.

You have to remember both Rush and Beck are adamant they are not doing the news, they are offering "opinion", in other words, whatever they can dream up. FOX does not claim they are "Fair and Balanced" and in a court case on O'Reiley stated there was no requirement for what he said to be true. This is "opinion and entertainment", not news. At least that is what FOX told the courts.
Personally, I think Beck has better writers than Comedy Central, but that is just my "opinion".

They run one of the largest disaster relief organizations in the US. They had trucks rolling to New Orleans before Katrina hit and for the first two weeks were alone using supplies they had already warehoused in New Orleans because their planning had shown a disaster would happen there.
