Very excellent looking weld. I've been welding over 30 yrs and you're the "only" tig welder I've seen so far that actually lets your gas continue coverage over the weld end after you stop welding. Excellent!! That's the correct way.

Hi! Newbie tig welder here. Im trying to tig weld 1.5mm wall thickness 304 stainless tube for a collector and im burning through the backside of the pipe. I also cant get the welds as shiny and bluish-gold color like your welds have. I were able to make shiny welds ONLY when not using a filler. Is my ampere setting too high? I'm using a DC inverter tig machine set at 25 amps, 1.6mm tungsten, gas at 5 L/min. any inputs will be appreciated. thanks!
@loudragEG9 25amps may be a little low your amperage is so low that it causes your travel speed to be to slow and the heat input becomes more then what the stainless can take id be at 40amps & haul ass sometime its what you have to do i used to build food grade counters and piping for industrial kitchens ( no burn though or sugaring is allowed) now i work aerospace for the boeing company but i suggest you try more heat and much faster the puddle forms quick & just lay that filler in good luck
@loudragEG9 It could be your gas flow is a bit low unless you are using a lens then you can get away with low flow unless you have the tungsten out a lot like in this video for getting down into the valley. Your amps are a bit low, better to have a bit more and work faster. Stainless looks shit on the back of a butt and on burn through unless you use a backing gas to stop oxidisation. Just keep up the practice you will get there.
Great welding......best yet.

Gas lense or not, stick a tungsten go to the grinding wheel, or be lazy and continue to weld......Just making a simple comment no big deal.

I notice that you are sticking your tungsten; Why? your contaminating your tungsten.

@Race2211 cmon man you gotta know about a gas lense!
