  • Nice Video Bryant :D

I remember this song from the West Atlanta Roadgeek Videos Series

    Number 11 I think :D

  • @CoolWizziProductions

    Thanks.

This song and West Atlanta 11 have a similar tune, but are different songs.

  • @Bryant5493 oh okay thx for the correct information xP

  • @CoolWizziProductions

    You're welcome. :-)

  • THANKS; MEMORY LANE;I WORKED FOR D-O-D/-/GULF PORT HOUSING,OFF BASE LIVING SURVEILLANCE-KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE 81-83;

  • @RIVERRATNODRIFTING

You're welcome. Glad that I could take you back down memory lane. Cool.

  • It is always good to see a video of home....

Thank you from a Biloxi girl. :-)

  • @AgentPepsi1

You're very welcome, from an Atlanta boy (lol).

  • I lived there in 1972 -73,before going in the Army.We lived in Ocean Springs,Biloxi,D'Iberville too. My Ex's father was stationed at Keesler AFB.I had a small apt. a block or so from the White Light House there. Boy it looks a little different since those days. I guess the Casinos & Katrina changed all that too. Thanks 4 the memories!

  • @HerbWalker

    You're welcome.

  • Weird seeing mast-arm signals along Hwy 90 when virtually all of them used to be span-wire signals. Also weird how several signals were originally protected-permitted, then became protected-only, and are now protected-permitted again (Porter Ave and Courthouse Rd for example).

Also a change in the left turn signals that did exist. MDOT used to use red left arrows...didn't see any on these new sets of signals.

  • Yeah, I remember the wire spans and the numbers the signals used to have.

I think the red circular lights are better visually than the red arrows, as the circular reds can be seen better in a high sun.

  • Use of LEDs has minimized that particular issue. Plus, circular reds can be and have been confusing as far as which direction is allowed to go. Red arrows make it pretty clear whether you can turn or not.

  • That's true, but if the lane is striped well and signage augments the markings (i.e., left turn signal, etc.), I'd go with the circular reds. Since this isn't always the case, though, the red arrows are more effective, as you stated, because they readily tell one which direction that they are allowed to go.

  • I lived right across the bay from boom town casino. The flooding completely destroyed our house. We were considering rebuilding but didn't because we would need to build on stilts. And my grandmother is to old to climb stairs. So we moved to Virginia where my sister's live. I visited Biloxi a few times but I would love to move back down there some day.

  • Thanks for the video. I went down to the Gulfport/Biloxi area a few years ago and loved it. How has the area recovered since Katrina? Hopefully there's lots of construction going on.

  • You're welcome.

There's a lot of reconstruction and construction of new casinos, homes, etc.

  • WAY KEWL VIDEO! I lived just about on the line between Gulfport and Longbeach. We road Katrina out then had to leave because my wifes and my job was wiped out, that sucked! Great place to live great view averyday and FABTASTIC FOOD!I miss it everyday. Once again, thanks for the memories,we hope to visit again one day.

  • Good y'all survived. Glad I was able to provide you with a trip down memory lane.

  • Neat ride and a great soundtrack.

  • Thanks, Jim. I think the song fit with the drive.

  • Makes a nice place to live

  • Very cool place. Seems like it'd be fun to see the ocean on the daily.

  • excellent ride!!!

  • Thanks, Josan.

  • looks nice out there at least during the time you went!

  • Yeah, it was nice and sunny. A little cool, but nice and sunny.

  • Nice drive.

Was this area flooded during Katrina?

  • Thanks, Chris.

Yes, it was. The bridge (U.S. 90) over the Bay of Biloxi was re-built; U.S. 90 was repaved in Gulfport and Biloxi; and the traffic lights were replaced as well, due to a lot of them being knocked down and destroyed by the hurricane-force winds.

  • nice.

the traffic seams to be moving along pretty well on that road

  • Thanks.

Yeah, traffic was pretty breezy on this highway.
