  • @Tecallion

Yes, I did. Modern Drummer published my transcription a while ago. You can take a look and see the few times that it was used.

  • nice one dude!

  • Thanks for posting. I've been working on playing through your transcription since that issue came out but still have troubles. haha But I'm loving the process. Nice to hear you play it!

  • Nice work man. Can you share that transcription? I'd love to see it.

  • hey man,

I sent it into Modern drummer and was published march 2007... or was it 2008. Anyway, I'd contact them. If they can't send it to you, than I will email it to you.

  • @flamflamflam Thank you very much, I really appreciate it. I'll see if they can send it to me, if not, how do I give you my e-mail address? (as I wouldn't like to post it in front of the world).

  • Heel down = bad technique.

might wanna fix the heel down problem if you wanna play live cause heel down would not be able to deliver the power of the bass drum to it's full extent.

  • Dude,

Thanks for the post. Many of the best drummers in the world play heal down. I play both heal down and heal up. I also play about half of this video heal up. I dont consider it to be a technical problem. However, thanks for the advice.

  • Well I was pointing out the "heel-down" habit simply because I couldn't hear the bass drum well in this video. I know for a fact that this song is played by Vinnie Colaiuta (best note displacement drummer {for me at least}) and his beat is strong and solid. Your beat was very enjoyable to me, but it somehow looked like it lacked some power. Anyways, I guess that's your style. Now I gotta go check out other videos from you :D

  • Heel down is very legit. Like he said, its not a "habbit", its a choice. Many great drummers use both so that they can deliver volume when need be or have the grace and control to play different styles of music. I don't know...you should check out some heel down work for a more versatile bass drums sound.

  • hey anthony i dont think i can make class tomorrow

  • hey anthony its sebastian wats kicken?? lol yeah dude i hope you win that election for the libertarian party i mean do watever you want thats BEAST!

  • thanks

    see you in class tomorrow

  • thanks!

  • Great job man !

  • Why aren't you using the kick drum? O.O

  • I am. I play mostly heel down.

  • I can hear the bass drum fine. It's probably because I have a subwoofer though.

  • you can also hear me go way out of time on a lot of the double bass drum stuff. :)

  • Hi Anthony! its me! u are awesome i didnt no u were on utube

  • very well playing

try without the reading and there's more soul

    very good though

  • nice one man thats sweet, think i might have to give this a go

  • Hi! Well Played!!!

I see that you have transcriptions of this song; Can you please sent me ?????

    Grtz Claudio

  • Check Modern drummer 2006 or 2007. Its in there somewhere.

  • Is he using Sabian B8pro hi-hats??

  • yes,

that is my teaching studio. It isn't my playing kit.

  • good job

    very good drummmer

I like me vinnie is a very good drummer.

  • I had a question on your transcription. The job you did on that was amazing and its a fantastic transcription. I was wondering how you came to conclusion on the sticks in the solo section, are those stickings Vinnie was playing or is it you interpretation. Thanks again

  • It was my interpretation from what I know of Vinnies's playing. Thanks for the complement on the transcription. It took a very long time.

  • Vinnie was one of Garys students. When you hear vinnie play, you can hear garys sticking method on his hands...(some other times, you can only hear one of the best fking crazy drummer of the planet!! lol)

    great job man!

  • Very soon the same level than Vinnie !

  • As below not a terrible attempt

  • You play very well, but you have to inprove your time!!!

    GOOOOOOD JOOOOB

  • Dude you tottaly Funk it off :) Fantaaaaaaaaaaaaaastic

only one question where did you get the score

  • Great Job bro. I have great respect for you man and I dont even know you. haha. you didn't play as many notes as Vinnie. But then again. Who can. lol

  • a u e s o m

  • fucking incredible, good job

  • Dude how did you get a backing??

    ~~

  • I just played along with the CD. you can tell at the end of the drum solo. i mess up the time and you can hear the error.

  • Ahh, right. I've only ever heard the live version on Youtube. Gotta get me this CD.

Nice playing, anyway! Not as choppy as Vinnie, but then... Who is :P

    ~~

  • very very cool...awesome :)

  • I was specting more but well done however!!! keep working on it :). BTW what drum set is that? it sounds good.

  • great video, but c'mon i wanna see that benny greb stuff you're workin' on!!

  • ha ha. I'm actually having a hard time with the Benny Greb stuff. I have about half of his solo from Grebfruit done. however, I've been too busy lately to finish it. i promise I'll have it done by the end of August. By the way, I just saw Benny do a clinic yesterday. It was incredible!!! Best clinic ever!

  • You are very skilled. you remain relaxed at all times and technique is perfect. Great comprehension skills too, by the way. Sheesh. You're playing the drums of a master too!

  • WOW...that's really an amazing job you are doing there! Great taste and technique. Well, at least I can play "Rosanna" :-)

  • Dude, Rosanna is a tough tune to hold down. thanks for the compliment.

  • Great job. But more ride crashing.

  • Ha! The displacement stuff sounds like my drumming only I'm not doing it on purpose! Now I have an excuse!

  • You boys who can read drum score like that mess with with my noodle man....nice one!! now tell the truth ho many takes did it take you to get right?

  • I'm not sure. i think I did it in two or three. However, I worked on the tune for months before recording it.

  • this is great. i got a copy of your transcription.

  • Great job man....awesome...the displacment is just so tastey...any chance of getting a copy of your transcription? sure you've been asked too many times...anyways again nice job

    Vinnie would be proud.

  • MD published my transcription in their march issue. See if they will send you the PDF files for it.

  • they did...nice....thanks..you a HODer? cheers

  • What is a HODer?

  • good job thanks

  • una versión bastante básica y un poco arrastrada, pero bien...hay que pensar que maese Vinnie Colaiuta es uno de los monstruos de nuestro instrumento y es dificil alcanzar su nivel, bueno eso sería...sigue asi =)

  • Awesome man! ;)

  • Whats the mic set-up? Snare and two overheads? Sounds nice.

  • snare, two over heads and bass drum.

  • Thanks man. Good stuff.

  • You're class. That displacin stuff, I don't even have the balls to try it!

  • the alternative rythming is insane in this song. nobody but a drummer would realise that he's not just messing up...

  • Dude, i know. I love that Vinnie thought about that. It took me so long to transcribe it.

  • Nice job on a tough song... that was great, thanks.

  • Please I wanna know how did you get the play along for this song.... Thanks!

  • I just played along to the original tune from Vinnie's CD. You can tell because i get off in a couple of parts; especially the drum solo. Hope that helps.

  • Just litened to you play this while reading transcript from modern drummer. Great reading and drumming mate, gotta love some of those Vinnie licks!

  • Thanks, I've also transcribed seven days and I am now working on some Benny Greb.

  • nice strength... well done...

  • dude, your awsome! keep up the good work. that just blew me away.

  • Very Cool
