  • z sscale soo small O.o

  • a truley fantastic model. Anything from the southern gets a top vote from me. Good choice of stock and in correct formation as well. Like the way the music is relevant to the video. Now there a few RTR emus arround i am starting on a small layout of my own more of this anon.

  • Excellent video!

  • Found this video some months ago.awsome, have to watch it every time I visit YouTube.

Seeing it in real life at exhbitions .Fantastic

    ELO favorite group

    5 STARS

  • GREAT!!!!

  • VERY GOOD

  • Awesome track quality for such a small gauge.

  • I've used the same ELO song in some of my train videos haha

  • I love your layout, where did u get your platforms?

  • wot a great layout i love it 5 stars and fav

  • is this 9n) gauge

  • This is 2mm finescale - that is 2mm represents one foot which is 1/152 scale. The gauge is 9.42mm with very fine flangeways. British N scale is 2 and one 16th mm to the foot, which is 1/148 scale, yet it uses a very undersized 9mm gauge, and very coarse wheel and flange standards. European N scale is a more accurate combination of scale and gauge (1/160 on 9mm gauge) but still has coarse wheel and flange standards. Japanese and American N are different again.

  • ok thnx n cool

  • ace

  • id say the only new train i like is the voyager, other than that its steam all the way

  • Great video mate how did u get elo music on it

  • Yes, it is a nice layout. But i have to say it was much better when it was steam, you should'nt of converted it.

  • love the emus 'dont see enough of the br erea model railways 'as in 2mm scale '.which i have. mine is of the north london line' canonbury station 1970s 'which has gone over to dcc .will put on here 'when completed. love this layout more please.

  • Love this layout! Theres some excellent stock.

  • nice 442 qand slamdoor stock

  • I agree Jim - everything does look right, even down to the cement truck & JCB parked beside the track! ELO is one of my favourite bands. Thanks!

  • No expence spared on this layout then.

    Excellent choice of music too.

    Great video.

  • Undoubtedly one of the best modern image layouts I have ever seen.. and good music too. 5*

  • A mixture of kits from Taylor Plastic Models (TPM) and BH Enterprises.

  • where did you get that network southeast slamdoor from and a very nice vid whish my layout was as good :(

  • saw this layout live, and it really is a credit to its owners, fab modern image and all in keeping with period and area. brilliant

  • Nice bit of ELO as well!

  • How long is the display from end to end?

  • Sorry I've not responded to your question before but I've never subscribed to YouTube!

The visible part of "Welton Down" is 3m (10ft)long and the total layout, which forms an oval with cassette fiddle yard is 16ft x 7ft (approx). It is built to 2mm finescale standards, not N gauge, although most locos and rolling stock are either converted RTR N gauge items or kits.

Ian Morgan took the video at the DEMU TVAG Exhibition at Maidenhead, if I remember correctly.

    Jim Allwood

  • Thanks Jim. I'm amazed that 2mm scale can look more realistic than 7mm. I dislike N gauge wheel profiles which look ridiculous to me; but everything here looks right.
