I am a male and I love Take Back The Night. I participate in it every year and they give special thanks to me and my all male organization for being a vocal supporter of a safe campus. TBTN at my school is an event to raise awareness about statistics that sexual assault affects roughly 1 and four of us, both male and female, they make their stats known and try to get the campus to pledge against violence and sexual assault. The event helped me as a survivor, its not evil rhetoric people i sware.

@luckyvetTo my knowledge the statistic is based on college students, and for my research I would say that stat holds, I have met at my University hundreds of people who have been assaulted and I have never seen anything at least where I am to revert that idea. I will not deny their is a bias and femenazi's do stereotype but the fact that there is any sexual assault anywhere in my community is enough to support groups who try to advocate for victims rights.

When the student answered, it suddenly turns into rape. When in fact the 'victim' doesnt feel raped at all. I have never been to a take back the night rally, but was going to go on the account that most of my experiences of violence has happened in the middle of the day, and involved both men and women equally. Yet I have been warned to be stereotypically frightened of men in the night, and at clubs. It's not supremacy I am looking for, it's that I want someone to see me for my experiences and realize that there are some very wounded men and women walking amongst us.

Take Back the Night is NOT about saying all men are rapists. In fact, my school had a Stop Rape Week that led up to the rally, which included the complex nature of rape. While men make up the majority of perpetrators (which is NOT saying that most men are rapists, but rather most rapists are men), women raping men is dismissed or laughed at because that shows a man is "weak".
Maybe next time you should be brave, like the people who spoke about their own rape experiences, and show your face.

I find it interesting that people who are supportive of take back the night campaigns are marked down and yet their arguments are quite clear. Argument = What is wrong with asking men to help take back the night regarding rape? how is this argument wrong? when one here argues that police and governments often ask for help in catching criminals and to watch out for one another and alert the police about suspicious activities. I am a male and I love Take Back The Night. I participate in it every year and they give special thanks to me and my all male organization for being a vocal supporter of a safe campus. TBTN at my school is an event to raise awareness about statistics that sexual assault affects roughly 1 and four of us, both male and female, they make their stats known and try to get the campus to pledge against violence and sexual assault. The event helped me as a survivor, its not evil rhetoric people i sware.

@luckyvetTo my knowledge the statistic is based on college students, and for my research I would say that stat holds, I have met at my University hundreds of people who have been assaulted and I have never seen anything at least where I am to revert that idea. I will not deny their is a bias and femenazi's do stereotype but the fact that there is any sexual assault anywhere in my community is enough to support groups who try to advocate for victims rights.

I have never been to a take back the night rally, but was going to go on the account that most of my experiences of violence has happened in the middle of the day, and involved both men and women equally. Yet I have been warned to be stereotypically frightened of men in the night, and at clubs. It's not supremacy I am looking for, it's that I want someone to see me for my experiences and realize that there are some very wounded men and women walking amongst us.

Take Back the Night is NOT about saying all men are rapists. In fact, my school had a Stop Rape Week that led up to the rally, which included the complex nature of rape. While men make up the majority of perpetrators (which is NOT saying that most men are rapists, but rather most rapists are men), women raping men is dismissed or laughed at because that shows a man is "weak".
Maybe next time you should be brave, like the people who spoke about their own rape experiences, and show your face.

Feminists do have a point that women are more vulnerable to physical & sexual assualt on the street. I have no problem with that. It's a legitimate cause IMHO. I have been on a couple of their "Take Back the Night" marches and I was alienated though when they segregated the men from the women so that women could be at the front of the march. For that reason I choose not to be part of these rallies.

I find it interesting that people who are supportive of take back the night campaigns are marked down and yet their arguments are quite clear. Argument = What is wrong with asking men to help take back the night regarding rape? how is this argument wrong? when one here argues that police and governments often ask for help in catching criminals and to watch out for one another and alert the police about suspicious activities. I give this argument a thumbs up.
