I just did my bc on 8/23/09. I transitioned from 6/16/08 to 8/23/09. I wore a short wig & baseball caps when not wigging out! My hair grew about 7-8 inches which was a comfortable length for me to go ahead and bc. Love it & have not looked back. Transitioning is definitely a healthy way to begin your journey bcuz when u bc there will be no hesitation. In fact I cut my hair myself when the time came -- did not want to wait any longer. Keep up the good work in sharing your journey.
I have type 4b hair and I have 3 inches of new growth. I would like to try Curl-Gel-les'c however, I want a low maintenance product for my transition. (Waves without the constant twisting and curl setting.) How many inches of new growth did you have when you started using Curl Gel-les'c?
Thank you so much for replying back...Most people have try to convince me to just go get a BC done now and I've never had a short hair cut so I'm a little worry about how I would look plus SCARED. So I want to try to grow out the relax hair as much as possible to where I feel comfortable with the length. Thank you again.... :-)
while letting your hair grow out as long as your're planning before you BC, does this way damages your hair or is it about the same as any other BC ???
Have you noticed a difference in your skin since you stopped relaxing your hair. Your skin was beautiful in your earlier videos, but now it looks even more radiant. Did you change your skin care regimen as well?
Thanks. I haven't noticed a difference but it may be due to the change in my diet. I'm drinking more water (which helps with dry hair by the way) and eliminating junk food.
It has a light hold so it doesn't feel hard, but it doesn't feel completely soft either. The description says it's not a gel and it's not a serum. But to me it feels like a cross between the two. It didn't make my hair hard like gel and it didn't leave it too shiny and slippery like a serum. It was in the middle. So your hair can move and still have body and shine, while it holds the curls all day.
so you had a straight relaxer and over time it just left your hair

Sorry so late. This is "Pimp Hard" by Canton Jones. I think I'm a combo of 4a and 4b.

It would only damage my hair if I don't keep my hair moisturized and trim my split ends. Other than that, it's about the same as any other BC.
