i recieved mine today, i bought one (purely cos there cheap and i need my music loud on my bike, so (even tho its tiny / cheep AND states its 500W ) i dont think it is, ALTHO!
it is quite neat, and suprisingly loud! i had a 16" sub running off it for 2hours in my garden, it played fine, no problems! and at good quality... im happy with it,. but 500W ??? hmmm
maybe 500W is the new way of saying "mad in china" ? who knows!!!
@tickledawson its peak amplitude maybe 500w. but normally its peak amplitude is the moment before it blows up lol its RMS watts is the real number that you want to know.
NO WAY that you can get 500Watts out of that small amp! well, maybe you can, for like half a second before all the components burn down! cuz there is almost no cooling fins. and these cable can't handle the current so the amp can put out the 500Watts!
if that put's out 500Watts at 12Volts. the amp is going to draw 41,6Amps from the battery! even the cables is going to go "fssss" and melt down into chared plastic and molten copper! so NO WAY! it's impossible to get 500 Watts out!
they announce it 500w so people can buy fast

its only 8.5W at 24vDC and at 12vdc can only deliver about 3w this amp is no 500w
