  • Idahoan Citizen here. Reporting to you Risch, that my voice is for the healthcare plan presented. I like the house bill over the senates' because I'd like the public option included. I voted for you butt. Don't say "we" don't support it. Did you take a vote within your district because we idahoan's missed that.

  • ya like democrats know anything about ethics.

  • A Republican lecturing on ethics.

    How bizarre.

  • You have got to be kidding? Did you vote for Obama? Do you like Pelosi, Reid, Frank or Schumer?

Go through your history, it's funny that 90+ % of corruption is from liberal dumbocraps...so now your gonna piss about conservative ethics?

  • Conservative ethics? Is that an oxymoron?

  • No, an oxymoron is a liberal dumbocrap who says he represents the people. A moron is a person that votes for the liberal dumbocrap..............

  • Of course, & the person who lies about everything, including that, is a Republican.

The reason you scumbags got your ass kicked last election is that people started to see Republicans, like you, for the cockroaches they are.

  • Of course....The only reason a liberal dumbocrap gets elected is because the welfare class has now exceeded the hard working class..it's so much easier to sit on their butts with their hands out saying "gimme gimme" to Daddy government instead of getting a job like the hard working conservatives.

You should recheck your facts on who the liars are....leftist elitist liberal dumbocraps...noone else.

    P.S. Merry Christmas!!

  • The U.S. has one of the widest rich-poor gaps of any high-income nation, & it continues to grow. Prominent economists incl'd Alan Greenspan warned that the widening U.S. rich-poor gap is a prob. that could undermine and destabilize the U.S. economy and standard of living stating: "The income gap between the rich and the rest of the US pop. has become so wide, and is growing so fast, that it might eventually threaten the stability of democratic capitalism itself".

  • Interesting...do you know why the 'gap' is large? Look at the ratio of government teet sucking welfare rats, If this country was operating as a Republic as it was founded welfare would be a thing of the past...when all people work all people benefit. The gap you keep referring to is the gap between hard working people and the bums living on welfare...basically comparing apples to oranges.

  • The gap is so large because of the power of money over the U.S. political system, that ensures government policies continue to be mostly in favor of the wealthy & the corporate deep pockets.

I gave examples in another comment. Perhaps you should re-read it.

  • The rich become richer not only because money dominated the U.S. election & political process, but because the tax system rewards wealth more than it rewards work.

A rich man can take advantage of so many tax loopholes that he/she can work very little, living off a fat returns from ownership of capital resources, and end up paying less tax that some drywaller who day after day labors under a dirty and physically hard job.

  • Here' eg. GOP/Bush domestic policies that widened the gap between rich & poor: Massive unfunded tax cuts for the rich, elimination of the inheritance tax (the tax that only affected primarily the top 10% of the wealthy) so people like Bill Gates can pass on their dynasty intact to descendants who never have to work; eliminated tax on dividend's so that a construction worker making $50K pays tax trough the nose, but a rich person raking in $1M/ yr from dividends pays no tax;

  • Now regarding the 'unfunded' tax cuts...who pays the majority of taxes? Business's and 'rich' people. When was the last time you got a job from a $15 and hour guy? With tax cuts come jobs, increased flow INTO the economy which benefits all. You are under the mistaken assumption that all flows from government...it does not...it flows from a free market economy.

You're mistaken on your tax stats, the 'rich' pay 80+ percent of ALL taxes...people under 50k pay almost nothing. Check the IRS site.

  • Ah yes, the old GOP "trickle down" theory. Give more and more to those with the most & we'll all be better off. That philosophy is responsible for the diminishing middle class & the growing concentration of wealth at the top.

That debunked theory ignores the basic economic principle of the "multiplier effect" which shows that a additional $ in the hands of the lower or middle class stimulates demand more than an additional $ in the hands of the rich.

  • The GOP represent the wealthy & corporate interests, not necessarily the best interests of ordinary working citizens.

That partly explains why for more than a decade wages have stagnated while corporate profits have soared & CEO salaries have gone up hundreds of percent.

  • If you give a rich person more money he still won' build a widget factory if people can't afford widgets.

Conversely, if the people want & can afford widgets the factory will be built even if someone has to borrow the money to do it.

  • And by the way, where are all those jobs that the massive Bush tax cuts for the rich were supposed to have created?

  • Let's take a look....The economy was doing pretty well, coming back, unemployment was low...then what major event changed that? Was it possibly the housing market crash? Why yes it was, and WHO caused the housing crash by FORCING lending institutes to lend to illegals, people who couldn't afford loans and people who would not pay their loans? I remember, Barney Frank and willing dumbocrap congress members who controlled the laws for lending for these lending institutes. Oh it was G.W.'s fault.

  • Wages were stagnating and corporate profits increasing even before the "mortgage meltdown".

Is that another fact you choose to ignore?

Also, the Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac fiasco was one thing, but the weaknesses exposed in the financial system and their perilous gambling with our money was a separate animal.

  • You states 'facts' but refuse to back them up with substantiated data...You are incorrect (again) every part of the 'meltdown' was in fact created by the housing market being artificially inflated by dumbocraps forcing loans that wouldn't be paid back......when billions are lost and not paid back that tends to cripple any economy...I will say this...the spending had gotten out of control..couldn't tell the libs from the GOP :/

  • And where is your "substantiated data.."?

  • Finally, as to the suggestion that the rich are having such hardship because of the demands of the poor, consecutive census reports document that the trend continues of concentration of the nations total wealth in the hands of the wealthy, at the expense of those in the middle & lower class.

  • OK, I'll say it once more for the hard of learning and the cheap seats..The IRS website and stats page trumps your consensus crap. The 'rich' whom you obviously envy and hate so much pay 80+ percent of all taxes...Those who make less than 50k get it all back....how hard is this for anyone to understand? Obviously very hard for the liberals who think all must come from government after it is taked from the hard workers...which most rich people EARNED IT unlike your welfare class................

  • They pay more taxes, but they get proportionately more of the wealth than they contribute in taxes. That explains both the fact that they pay more in taxes and the fact that they continue to own a larger and larger share of the nations total wealth, at the expense of a the lower class & the diminishing middle class.

Also, again, the multiplier effect shows that an additional $ in the hands of the middle class stimulates demand & the economy more than an extra $ in the hands of the rich.

  • Here's the biggest problem with your posts, you have an absolute envy and hatred of anyone that has wealth, my guess is because you do not and you have been lead to believe it is unfair.

Your facts are completely skewed and liberal influenced.

First off, it is not for you or anyoen else to dictate how much a person can earn. If I have more money, I will make proportionately more in interest and returns, that's basic math. I'll move to your next 'post'.

  • if you have dividend revenue from stocks you pay no tax on that, whereas someone who works for the same amount of income pays tax on that. Just one of the Republican policies that reward wealth more than work.

As for "hatred of the wealthy", nothing could be further from the truth. In fact i would like it to be even easier for those who work hard to be successful. Policies that reward wealth more than work make that harder.

The only thing I hate is the cockroaches called Republicans.

  • You don't hate the 'rich' yet you want to spread their cash to others...how very socialistic of you...

If taxes are low and regulations are reduced you might actually see this success, however it is the liberal dumbocraps who punish business, so that success cannot be achieved...higher taxes, forced artificial benefits etc.

When the government removes its hands from the market, the market always succeeds...

  • Even conservatives like John McCain support a progressive income tax.

What do you think a progressive income tax is if not redistribution of the wealth?

Also, if economists are warning of the dangers of the widening rich-poor gap, just what is your "non-wealth-redistribution" solution to that problem?

  • McCain is not a conservative, FYI. This country was not founded on progressive taxation.

My solution, Good question!! :) Flat taxation: 8%fed, 6% state with no changing it. Tax every person equally, tax illegals and foreign business etc. 2X the rate (not US citizens) and flat rates for business...no more write offs for anyone, no more 'tax credits' this ensures equality for everyone, no more of this politician retirements that are different from you or I, they pay taxes as well.

    Just a start.

  • The flat tax, god's gift to the rich.

It's not income, but disposable income, that allows a person to build wealth.

A flat tax results in those at higher incomes having proportionately higher disposable income in both real terms and as a % of total income. Don't understand that? Take an example: a $100K income, a $500K income, and a basic cost of living of about $30K, and a flat tax of, say, 10%.

Work it out, the higher income person will have a much higher % disposable income. .

  • Look at it another way, A more "fair" principle would be that everyone has the same percentage of disposable income. That still gives the higher income individual more disposable income, but the only way of achieving the same % disposable income is via a progressive tax. Counter intuitive, but just arithmetic.

  • As for elimination of most of the loopholes, I couldn't agree more.

  • Pure free market, like pure socialism, works only on paper. The free market is the proven winner in terms of a model for economic development, but reliance on the free market to solve all problems and ensure equitable distribution of the fruits of development is a proven pipe dream. It's one reason the GOP were tossed out. We've had enough of the pipe dream of "do nothing & the free market will solve everything".

  • The free market works EVERYTIME it's tried. The reason the GOP were tossed is that they are RINO's, they are liberals with a GOP tag...no difference and even the conservatives had enough. The real problem is people didn't realize how bad the Dumbo's would make is, along with their Marxist leader...they are destroying a Representative Republic purposefully, take over business, take over HC, pretty soon this country will be a third world destination for over seas missionaries.

  • The unregulated "free market" had children working long hours in unsafe conditions in factories.

  • I'll tell you something, I do not dislike one party over another...what I hate in the recesses of my soul is the liars, the b.s.'er's and the politicians who cannot stand on what they truly believe.

If Obummer came out and said "I'm a Marxist vote for me" at least that's repectable but they hide who they really are to deceive and hide their true intentions, you know??

I'm out...thank you for the reasonable dialog...others just want to call me names and such, I appreciate your time.

  • Obama's not a "Marxist". That's just GOP propaganda. It only worked on the weak-minded.

  • As for your statement that those who make less than 50K per year get it all back", it is another fact that exists only in your head.

The U.S income tax marginal rate for $50K income was 25% for the 2009 year, & that doesn't include municipal & state taxes &

the tax component of fines, fees, levies, excise taxes etc.

So tell us wise one - how do they get that all back?

  • Let's disregard the IRS tax stats then, because you are...If you make 50K and pay 25% in tax, how is it that you can get back in returns and tax break an amount more than you have paid? If I am making 100K a year and I am paying 45+% in taxes yet I only get back 5K in return, why am I not getting the same % return as the 50K guy? Where does that money come from? And that DOEs include state tax etc. You are not addressing the hard facts on the IRS website, distraction and diversion again.

  • That the U.S. has about the worst rich-poor gap of any wealthy nation is a fact. That major economists, including Alan Greenspan, has warned about the danger to our economy from that gap is a fact. That consecutive census have confirmed the increasing concentration of wealth at the top is a fact. All of these are "hard facts". Your problem is that you can't see the forest for the trees.

Also, you still didn't support your lie that someone at $49K a year pays no tax because he gets it all back.

  • These facts support another advantage of a national health care program. Not only is it needed from a moral standpoint for any nation which wants to call itself "great" and "civilized", it also slows the rate of increase in the rich poor gap, depending on how it's financed. The polls show the most support by funding it primarily through a tax surcharge on the highest income Americans.

  • No, the only facts that support this are socialist propagandists...hard to face I'm sure but at least truthful. Poll are like chafe in the wind, worthless. Tell me anyone who is denied health care? Show me where people are dying in the streets? It is not for the government to provide health care at the expense of others...oh and don't give me the 'general welfare' clause...much like church state, it is interpreted by liberal morons who want the better off to pay for the welfare bums.

  • Who is denied h.c.? Here's an example hint:

John Hopkins Childrens Center study, pub. In Journal of Public Health: Lack of adequate health care may have contributed to the deaths of some 17,000 US children over the past two decades. .. was compiled from more than 23 million hospital records from 37 states between 1988 and 2005.

..concluded that children w/o health insur.are statistically far more likely to succumb to their illnesses than those with medical coverage.

  • So what about government run food services? People need food to live, why should anyone pay for that as well?

Your argument is completely socialist in its desire and nature...everyone succumbs to sickness, nobody is denied health care...insurance is different than health care...I have no hc, I make under 30k a year and I'm not clamoring for anyone to give me squat....I pay my bills (the big difference) I'm not owed anything and I don't expect anything...I pay my bills and expect too.

  • if you say that insurance is not the same as health care then why did you not object when the GOP kept labeling the public option INSURANCE plan "government HEALTH CARE"?

  • And thats just the children. Another widely reported study suggested that up to 45,000 deaths/yr. contributed to by lack of HC insurance

  • You confuse emergency room stabilization with access to primary health care.

By the way, when you brag that no one is denied health care in an emergency room, it was government regulation that enacted that guarantee.

  • Only due to the fact (darn those pesky facts) that illegals were and are driving hospitals out of business.....why require anyone to pay....that would mean that business works if people actually pay for what they take.

  • And if you don't have the $75K for the operation you need to save your life?

  • Oh as for your "proven false" trickled down theory, where do you think the prosperity for 20+ years cames from...the liberal tax fairy? O.K. smart ass....If you are paying 25% of 50k that = about 12k but by standard deductions, child tax credits, day care credits and the like...that person gets a return of 8k what is the actually tax paid? Less than 10% This is easy information for anyone who can read from the IRS website, yet if you 100k and pay 40+ % but only get back 5k what percent is that?

  • Prosperity for the rich and the corporations.

    Wages stagnated.

Also, the "prosperity" was largely an illusion, a "bubble" supported by borrowing money from other countries.

  • I'll agree with the borrowing money from other countries, that has ruined our country...it's really funny because apparently Obummer, Pelosi, Reid and the other think they can print as much as possible...but they do not understand basic economics...they are driving the dollar down to nothing...that is why our economy is dying, print print print and inflation goes up up up.

  • Drumboy5165, stop call us democrats dumbocrats. It's very childish and all it does is tempt myself and others who disagree to call you names which is useless. Thank you in advance.

  • You know something, you're correct. It reduces what I say to childishness, my apologies. One thing, I will not be called a racist, hate/war monger or facist because I believe in a Republic and not a socialist euthopia where liberals think rich people need to foot the bill because the majority of them don't have the motivation to excel and prosper.

I watch people who are now in the minority work themselves to the bone to provide a better life and the rest want to take it away from them. Peace

  • I heard Sen. Risch on the Bill Bennet show this a.m. and had to come here, find it and pass it on!! God Bless this senator !!!!

  • He does not speak for me who voted for him.

Just for some fun, those who want it post you want it, those who don't post you don't. Also, remark if you are an idahoan citizen in Risch's district too would be helpful. :)

I want the health care bill to pass. Am in Risch's district.

  • Right on
