I have a apbt just like inky, same exact coloration and general appearance and proportions, but she's bigger. My pit's ears are not cut and she was spayed at 6 months, so her nipples didn't grow like inky's. She weighs about 55lbs and her name is Samantha, I call her Sam. The body type inky has (and mine) are the kind locals look for in the award shows. Also, a good rule of thumb for the snout length is that it should be the same as the length of the top of the head (what I was told).

@teedonster i wouldnt say they attack first, but they are more dominant. I have a blue pit and a boxer pit mix (female) i just got. My blue is super dominant, cant get it out of him......but he wont play with the other dog bc if he gets too rough she'll paw on his shoulder, mount, head over the neck to him. Its actually REALLY annoying because he's all but given up on being playmates with her.

thats funny cuz the AKC doesnt recognize the american pit bull terrier and yes they do have different types of pits there is the american pit bull terrier and the american staffordshire terrier both not recognized by the AKC

The American Staffordshire Terrier is recognized by the AKC and any American Pitbull Terrier with according to them the 'right' pigment (so no red nosed dogs), can be registered with the AKC as an American Staffordshire Terrier. They can even be dual registered AKC amstaff/UKC apbt, as long as the AKC registration was first. Personally I don't give a shit, cause both organisations don't register the 'true' gamebred apbt like the ADBA does.

Actually, pit bulls are some of the most even tempered dogs on the planet and their body language is very obvious. Your rottweiler's reputation isn't any better than a pit bulls but you still consider it a family member. Well my pitbull is a family member to me, and she's also the sweetest, most easy going dog I've ever had... Even with my year old nephew. I'm not saying that there are no short tempered pits or rotties out there, I'm just saying, maybe you shouldn't believe everything you hear.

The apbt in this video was showing some clear signs, by the way they are very stable actually, if they were unstable then the owners messing somthing up, if you dont beleive they can be stable, sweet dogs, look at daddy and junior, cesar millans dogs.

Black one is a thrown away stray dog, used up for breeding and covered in mange. There's no KIND of pit bull terrier, just different body types. She went on to get her AKC Canine Good Citizen award and became a therapy dog, BTW.

A "pitbull" refers to many similar looking dogs, such as the American Pitbull Terrier, the Bull Terrier, the Stafforshire Terrier, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, the Cane Corso, the American Bulldog, etc. Mant people even confuse the APBT with Labradors, Mastiffs and Boxers. People are pretty dumb, i'd say.

also after op he had excessive bleeding so they kept him in 2 days, not what i`d call a routeen op. so that put me off neutering full stop. i blame the perticular vet doing the job lucky i was insured..

She likes intact males, though she's spayed, most of my females are the same way. To train them, first you have to get them to pay attention to you when you tell them "watch me" and give them a treat, then you gradually introduce another dog from far away, tell them "watch me" and then bring the dog closer, etc. Just relax and keep walking past the other dog like its no big deal, they'll catch on.
