I think that you should NOT get the shots until the very last possible moment and see if you actually have rabies. lol. I'd like to see how you look like with rabies. haha I know that sounds horrible. Stay Sweet :)
You probably do not have rabies but I'd just have to say please get your shots as soon as possible.
Death by rabies is one of the most excruciating ways to die that exist in this world, although modern American medicine has largely eliminated this fate in this country.
i dont think that you have rabies. it seems unlikely that the bat would have bitten you while your were asleep. but i would stress about it anyways too.
Bats can carry rabies, but I am of the understanding only a small percentage of bats have rabies. I think you are fairly safe, but I understand how frightening it can be. I will be thinking of you over the next few days. Please keep us posted.

I highly doubt you have rabies but the problem is the only way it can be determined is if they kill you and examine your brain. Shots sound like a better option.

This is VERY important: Treat ALL possible bites or scratches from ANY mammal as though it has rabies unless the animal has tested negative.
Get the shots. The shots are vaccines, not cures. Rabies has a long incubation period, so you might not show signs of the disease for half a year or more. However, once developed rabies is ALWAYS fatal (100% of the time, dude, its the deadliest virus known to man).
oh my god, I was so scared the bat was going to fly out of that vent!!! -- I heard you have to get rabies shots in your butt cheeks? Umm..but I heard that way back in middle school so I don't know how valid that statement actually was.
As long as you take the five shots you should be okay, though it would be better if they knew where you were bitten/scratched/licked because they have to shoot you up with immunoglobulin at the contact site and in the muscles a bit a ways. But you should be fine anyways! Just make sure you do get those shots ASAP (Well the first shot) the other ones are given to you over a 28 day period. You should be fine!
My brother got bite by a bat at camp. It was pretty scary, he had to get about a million shots over the span of three weeks. He was alright, and he finally got over his fear of needles after that.
When I was really little, I got bit by a dog that my babysitter had because she wasn't watching me... I guess it was pretty bloody...I still have a couple faint scars across my cheek and nose.

i was just telling a friend the other day how i used to be the "unofficial" bat catcher in this old vaudeville theatre i worked at. all the big crew guys were terrified of (a) heights (b) the original ladder system in the brickwork - more than a little wobbly, and (c)the little brown bats themselves. i thought they were cute! but yeah, bats are like mice, anywhere they can fit their head, the rest of them will fit too. btw - i honestly don't think you have rabies.

erm i was biten by a donkey one time.... i was just standing there and it leaned over and bit my stomach! ... it was so embaressing coz no one saw it do it and then no one believed me coz the donkey quickly turned around again :( ... hmmmmm - fucking stupid ass!

And rabies is such an exaggerated problem. 1 or 2 people get infected PER YEAR in the USA.
Seriously, you're in greater danger drinking tap water or walking down the stairs.

Oh, yeah, by the way, I hope you don't have rabies. I was once attacked by my grandparents' German Shepherd when I was like 7, it was horrible, but hey, nowadays I'm a major doglover. Who knows? Maybe you'll turn into Batman! ;)

You probably do not have rabies but I'd just have to say please get your shots as soon as possible.
Death by rabies is one of the most excruciating ways to die that exist in this world, although modern American medicine has largely eliminated this fate in this country.

i dont think that you have rabies. it seems unlikely that the bat would have bitten you while your were asleep. but i would stress about it anyways too.

Bats can carry rabies, but I am of the understanding only a small percentage of bats have rabies. I think you are fairly safe, but I understand how frightening it can be. I will be thinking of you over the next few days. Please keep us posted.

I highly doubt you have rabies but the problem is the only way it can be determined is if they kill you and examine your brain. Shots sound like a better option.

This is VERY important: Treat ALL possible bites or scratches from ANY mammal as though it has rabies unless the animal has tested negative.
Get the shots. The shots are vaccines, not cures. Rabies has a long incubation period, so you might not show signs of the disease for half a year or more. However, once developed rabies is ALWAYS fatal (100% of the time, dude, its the deadliest virus known to man).
Get the shots. Taking the risk is NOT worth it.

oh my god, I was so scared the bat was going to fly out of that vent!!! -- I heard you have to get rabies shots in your butt cheeks? Umm..but I heard that way back in middle school so I don't know how valid that statement actually was.

I heard that you get the shots in your stomach with pretty long needles and that it is kind of painful. I hope for Korey's sake that I'm wrong :/

I studied Rabies for Bio like a month ago.
As long as you take the five shots you should be okay, though it would be better if they knew where you were bitten/scratched/licked because they have to shoot you up with immunoglobulin at the contact site and in the muscles a bit a ways. But you should be fine anyways! Just make sure you do get those shots ASAP (Well the first shot) the other ones are given to you over a 28 day period. You should be fine!

My brother got bite by a bat at camp. It was pretty scary, he had to get about a million shots over the span of three weeks. He was alright, and he finally got over his fear of needles after that.
When I was really little, I got bit by a dog that my babysitter had because she wasn't watching me... I guess it was pretty bloody...I still have a couple faint scars across my cheek and nose.
Atleast there is only the slight possibility that you might have rabies, Hope you get rid of the critter:]
