The crx would run rings around the corvette on a road course. Lighter cars are easier to accelerate brake and turn not to mention the extra potential it has on the road or the drag strip.
As said anything can be made to perform well with time and money and that includes import cars. 6 and 7 sec imports are now commonplace in drag racing and times are quickly dropping.
CRXs have been know to embarrass cars on traditional race tracks (not the ovals) because they corner very well and can maintain their speed in the turns. If that rex maintained the crx handling dynamics, it would probably beat the corvette in said situation too. Not trying to start a flame war.

well you dnt have to spend that much money, you can find engine nd tranny 2jzgte for about 5k more or less, 10k tops,, so if u take 40k that is going to a supra, and just buy the motor (10k tops) and get a donor car, (s13, s14, any car that can take the engine) for about 5k, you got the car for 15k, and then you can take the rest of that money for costs for shops, or parts. so it is affordable, but only if youre willing to spend up to 20k on a car. and 20k is a lot for a car wit a 2jz swap

Alot of people bitched about not having traction control, now it comes standard; but since fuckers can't rtfm, they don't know to TURN OFF the traction control b4 drag racing. my neighbor runs pretty fast stock/bolt on 06 gto, and he runs low 12's- while other gto owners modify, and leave the traction control on for 13 and 14 second runs... and then they blame the car..

I never said anything about money. You have a heavily modified CRX vs. stock corvette... Mod the corvette and the CRX will get walked, not only on the drag strip but also the track. well you dnt have to spend that much money, you can find engine nd tranny 2jzgte for about 5k more or less, 10k tops,, so if u take 40k that is going to a supra, and just buy the motor (10k tops) and get a donor car, (s13, s14, any car that can take the engine) for about 5k, you got the car for 15k, and then you can take the rest of that money for costs for shops, or parts. so it is affordable, but only if youre willing to spend up to 20k on a car. and 20k is a lot for a car wit a 2jz swap

I'd rather spend six grand to buy an import, rully build the internals, performance intakes and exhaust, lightweight flywheels, a decent turbo setup, a proper tuning to run 10 second quarter miles, than to waste 70K on a vette that runs 12's.

idiot in the vette didn't turn off traction control. the car bogged off the line to prevent wheel spin. Alot of people bitched about not having traction control, now it comes standard; but since fuckers can't rtfm, they don't know to TURN OFF the traction control b4 drag racing. my neighbor runs pretty fast stock/bolt on 06 gto, and he runs low 12's- while other gto owners modify, and leave the traction control on for 13 and 14 second runs... and then they blame the car..

Both regions produce great cars, I like vette's as much as skylines, although theyre totally different in almost every aspect. Isn't that what makes them stand out of the rest of the cars in the first place... that's why we all want one :)

Actually the CRX ran a 10.63sec 1/4 mile so the lingenfelter would make it close, but I don't think they run 10's. Either way gotta respect both. Its a corvette.....and the other is fast.
