@zaydee07 Pretty funny. Didn't notice he "disliked" it. Well... I've said it many times, not every drill is meant for every coach or swimmer. Always good to have your own beliefs, and we do what we can to help those who may not have a coach. Thanks for the support.
@BboyArmo - The best breaststroke coach in history, Joseph Nagy, was quoted saying, "the only thing wrong with breaststroke is, the kick". If you're going to focus on the kick, make sure you're setting it up correctly, or you'll be working against yourself.
@BBSTMembership Part of becoming a great coach or teacher, is getting rid of your ego and listening to those who have developed World Record Holders.. like Joseph. Also, considering your statement in relation to this video... the demonstrator is paralyzed from the waist down... so now how silly is the statement?
@goswim098 How is saying 80% of propulsion comes from the kick and ego statement? My comment had nothing to do with a paralyzed swimmer and everything to do with a silly statement by Nagy. Maybe you should put his entire comments in context, as just saying "the only thing wrong with breaststroke is, the kick" is an ignorant statement and is not the 'best' thing about breaststroke. Sad that your are a spokesperson for GoSwim.
@BBSTMembership - The statement I wrote was simply a statement. If you took it personally, then that's an issue you'll need to deal with. As a coach, when someone successful says something that I feel is silly, rather than questioning, I want to find out why they think that rather than publicly calling them out. Drop me a note if you want the entire story. I am the only "spokesman" for GoSwim, Glenn, and although I've never claimed I know everything about breaststroke, I know a thing or two.
I am an "older" swimmer and I've had a very difficult time figuring out how to swim breaststroke. I swam in the days when it was illegal to let your head go under the surface and heads-up, flat swimming was the goal. This video is really helpful. Thanks!
@CraizyMrs You and I both come from the old school. Visit our site and go to the breaststroke section. Lots of stuff there for those of us trying to change our stroke from old rules to new rules.

@goswim098 Which is a silly statement, considering 80% of the propulsion in breaststroke comes from the kick.

@deshawn972 its dave denniston
. At 52 seconds for a 100-yard breaststroke, Dave Denniston is a member of a very elite group, so we're going to learn from him.
