Ok, illustration time.... There is a room full of baby's of all different nationalities, all different skin colour, there are no adults. Now the baby's never leave the room ,they grow and mature into adults .OK.. would they have racism within the room? would they even know the meaning of the word at all ? My real question is, how did this even start and why ? I don't think any one can answer ,without sounding racist.
wow, I can sit through your scientific socialist Frankfurtian psycho-babble because your pretty! Peddling sanctioned regressive knowledge. If your going to clump systems of control with race correlation then entirely gloss over the methodology's, techniques as well as the vertical and horizontal implementation of closed society's and chalk that up as "Big W" your utterly bat-shit insane. It serves no purpose to obfuscate more useful information with racial emotive arguments.
Do you see how you're being racist by saying that whiteness refers to forms of domination? I understand that we have had an overall economic dominance by primarily white culture for centuries, but in a global economy where the most emergent economies are decidedly non white, then you are merely setting the stage for a backlash against whites by teaching people that all dominance and racism stems from whiteness. The bottom line is that any elevation or subjugation of another race is racism
So, "Down with whitey," basically? Nope, I've never heard that argument before. Thank you, Sir Mills, for propagating disdain for white/White people based on their "global supremacy." That really helps to perpetuate your argument that misinterpretations of the world are vast. For someone who seems so against racism, this seemed awfully biased toward making "white" people look very bad in all senses of the word, which I find extremely ironic.
I don't like how limited a format youtube gives for in depth discussion, although great responses they don't touch examples facts or anything past their perspective (even if based off facts)
I was expecting you to go a different route with your students instead of referencing the atomic bomb dropping in Japan. I think some better examples to show are Mao Ze Dong genocides in China and Tibet, the Congo, and Tojo in Japan as innocent non European people getting slaughtered that Whites have little knowledge of
@xDNYEx grrr...my response failed. Gladly I will clarify! I merely suggest taking the wind out of the sails of racism. in one social group, of which im the only melatonin deficient, we openly use it as "brother", not of race. The word still in society has power and I would never be that inconsiderate, but in my "world" you cant even try to insult based on anything other than quality of character.@xDNYEx
And just to rebuttle 1 points rather then spend this entire time preaching, if I was clear you are stating how people remember the holocaust over nukes. The level of difference in human suffering of those two events absurd. If the only injury I ever received was a paper cut, that is going to suck a whole lot. However, with my first broken bone I won't even remember a papercut. That's human nature. The scale of 6 million by default is more memorable. I don't get your point. Perhaps my ignorance.
sorry the last 2 posts say the same thing, a bit of a youtube comment newb and though it didn't post. I am not going to delete either as the different wording perhaps may be clearer.
when stating at the end what subject you where touching on* has made it difficult for me to truly dissect what you are saying. As we want people to discuss and think for themselves, to prevent "the racist contract" and being blinded by things already in place, or by human nature, we need all the facts easily accessible or else we are just blindly following you, which solves nothing and just transfers ignorance and adjusts the blindspot mirror, just so it has a new blindspot.
Do to the limits of youtube character responses, I will have to stop short. However, I do need to say that despite however right or wrong your arguement is, the lack of effort put into making it a clear message *Even how clear you felt you are being is obvious by the notation
@madhatterten at the end stating what subject you are touching again* makes furthering the discussion past your viewpoint very difficult. I would like more examples of the exact types of quotes you are responding too, a more concise message and perhaps some links. If the goal is to have people thinking for them selves, not using your brain you need to give them the tools. If I just take your word on the argument, then I am just transferring ignorance and blindness to following your limited scope
Example; I am the change in the world I want, so, with my friends of color (me being Irish/German and not living in a perfect neighborhood) I openly use the word "Nigga" truly removing any form of power and transforming it as slang for brother. Even if black people use it as a seperation term, I.E. they can only use it, that perpetuates racism, classism and seperation.
@madhatterten No offense, I'd like to see you explain your use of the word to a black person face-to-face. What you see as "removing power" I see as denying racism that is clearly present.
@madhatterten Wow what a beautiful illustration of her point: when you describe your neighbourhood, when you point out there are living black people as well, you use the terms "not living in a perfect neighbourhood". Well have i ever! So "perfect" would mean..? I see.
@veerleke A not so good neighborhood would not have gunshots and cops all the time. For one. It has nothing to do with color, except that in a not so good neighborhood racism is abundant and to a minority race it seems like something to point out for perspective.
@madhatterten ok ok sorry for my hasty conclusion! About this video, yes at this point in history w(W)hite people culturally and financially (and on some other levels) seem to still dominate the world theatre, but it hasn't always been that way and it won't last forever. The urge to conquer, win rule and consolidate+maintain power is by no means a 'white invention' and there will always be a power struggle between those who have power and those who want power.
@veerleke The "system" absolutely is geared towards people in the correct positions to access the tools the "system" puts in place. Tha'ts suburbs, and really generally area populated by whites. So although there is no exact racism anymore, there will always be a system with bias. Without bias there is no there can be no power, everything would be equal. It's not a race war anymore, it's a philosophical/political upheaval one. A structural one. People know racism is ignorant and ridiculous.
@madhatterten The labeling of a form of domination and oppression as "whiteness" is adding power and prejudice against Caucasian people who will in turn shut down anything you have to say based upon subconscious emotional response.
@madhatterten Example; I am the change in the world I want, so, with my friends of color (me being Irish/German and not living in a perfect neighborhood) I openly use the word "Nigga" truly removing any form of power and transforming it as slang for brother. Even if black people use it as a seperation term, I.E. they can only use it, that perpetuates racism, classism and seperation.

I like this. Not because I agree with your points (which I do and I don't) But because you speak with intelligence, and not slang. most people on youtube aren't speaking up about issues that are everyday life, and not just the current news.
I don't see race or refer to people as their race such as "My black friend", I just call him Zack. I don't even refer to myself as white, I am a Martial Artist and as such I strive to be the best friend, the best husband (If I was married), the best father (If I had children). I treat others as they are not by their race, ethnicity, nationality or religion. I choose to live with honor and integrity and to quote Sam Peckinpah "To walk into my home justified". It may be corny but there it is.
@Sleems12 Dude don't be ashamed - Just understand that there is a system/structure that currently exists which gives the White population an unfair Social/economic advantage over the rest of the population... Like you're all standing on ivory pedastals much like Aristocrats over the peasents in France prior to the French revolution. We all know what happened to them. LET ME BE CLEAR.. I DON'T hate white-people. I hate the system that upholds them.
@Entriken133 - Its easy to say that you're not on a pedastal... But when they're offered, its up to you to partake in that advantage or not. I just see alot of Whites taking advantage of this system like its their birth-right... Everyone must assimilate and be like them or be ruled as an outcast in this society.
As an Afro-Hispanic male in NYC, I don't have choice to not fight this system. Even well-educated, you're still treated as a second class citizen and socially excluded
@quixgofar I dont live in the city so i would not know. But in many places else where in the U.S. its equal. There is not some magical pedestal that gives us an advantage. There are just as many downtrodden whites as there are other ethnicities.
And thus if NYC provides a well-educated person like your self with no advantage, then move. I know it might be harder then it sounds. I understand its weird to leave where your from. But by staying your holding your self down, not a pedestal.
@Entriken133 Thanx for the response - Moving is not an option - By moving, I'm merely running away from the problem instead of staying to fight it. So that means, everytime I encounter this problem I move/run away?
I'd rather stand and fight with the possibility of winning instead of running for the rest of my life.
@quixgofar No problem. And i understand that moving isnt simple. And your not running away. Your making a better life for yourself. By staying you hold your self back from living the life you deserve. If you are a well educated person then you can go anywhere and get a great job. But by staying you choose to give all that up. Now as you see it is not your race holding you back from having a good life and being equal. But it is more your own decision to stay in a place that offers nothing.
@Entriken133 - I appreciate the suggestion, but I have to stay put and stick-it-out in the big city. I've seen too many people move away, start new lives only to wonder what could've been had they stayed in the first place. This is a subject apart from this video. New York represents this country and the world itself. Generations have come here for a better life, for a means to strive, to do better. And I can't see myself walking away from that or this city. She calls to me and I answer.
@quixgofar so whites have a "pedestal". what do you suppose is done about that huh? white people should all give up their jobs to non whites? are you saying no white person is successful honestly without their societal pedestal? maybe whites are more successful because they dont have a scapegoat to blame their failures and unsuccessful lives on.
@joeratti maybe all whites make sweeping generalizations that negatively affect the social representation of non whites. i don't really believe that, but research shows white people have to work less hard to get into college, find employment etc. It's not a social pedestal as much as the majority having accepted the illusion of a merit system; race has essentially always been endemic to our society.
@joeratti-Point well taken. Not asking anyone to give up their jobs nor using a scapegoat/crutch. Just saying the system exists - Ex. Imagine we're running a 100-yard dash. Society provides the white population (for those who want to partake in it) a 20 yard head-start with little to no hurdles. For everyone else, high to Mid-level hurdles with a water hazard towards the finish line. (GO!) - This entitlement when acknowledged, makes whites who use it upset. Hence the tone of your response.
@joeratti Another ex. - I need an opportunity to have an opportunity... 2 layers for my experience just to get a start. Where as a non-person of color would just walk-in and opportunities are offered... sometimes on Silver platters depending on who you know. And some feels its an entitlement. Times are changing (slowly) and are a stark contrast from the 50s & 60s.. But there's still alot of work to be done in this Country - NOTE To Cori: Thank you for starting this conversation.
i don think its that why the nukes arent remembered as much as the holocaust because it was a mass killing of a religion for no actual reason but the nukes arent remembered because they werent wrong yes they where civilians but i would go to any lengths to kill someone for the protection of my people family and myself dont be naive wars arent nice civil or should be thought civil and the nuke was dropped for us americans not a race but a nation and saved american troops not a race of them
Cori, racism is to difference as "whiteness" is to power. There's always going to be a fight for both, the only thing we can do is voice our opposition to them. There's also a HUGE difference between racism and discrimination. I can live with racism as a need for the human ego to feel superior to another group. I can't live with discrimination since it is a means of branding you socially, politically, economically and religiously inferior. Many people fight the right fight for the wrong reason
I find the fact that in your video You single out white people and the "White People" with a capital W as being racist, is in itself highly offensive and racist in its own right. Stating there is a higher white supremacy is only fueling racism toward white people. That thought in itself is a white steriotype based on the past which has been drilled into the mind of every other race. The steriotype is that whites are racist and therefore fuels more racism and the fact is racism is global.
It seems to me that most claims of racial supremecy come from individuals who themselves have not done anything significant to prove such a claim but, take credit for the accomplisments of other individuals on behalf of their race. Ironically most of those accomplished indivduals themselves from what I have observed do not seem to be racist. It is hard to believe racism still exists because in this day in age there are both successful and powerful individuals from almost every race so to say on
People of all race, color and creed are subject to an episemology of ignorance. I honestly don't think race has anything to do with it. Money and power are the prime concerns of those who feed us bullshit and keep us ignorant. I will give you one thing though its generally the brown people who suffer the bulk of the injustice from which the rich get richer and poor get poorer. But those are issues of resources and stability of government of the countries who are being, lets face it pillaged!
@Aldo182 There are systems in place which are technically "morally" correct that keep certain types of people down. Cocaine and crack are the "same" drug, however one is cheaper. Cocaine carries a lesser sentence than crack. I have been to coke parties with my white friends and have never heard of crack in their circles. My boys "from the hood" have crack parties. Crack will get you much more jail time, yet the majority of users *as where coke is white* is colored. Its about power and money.
@madhatterten Well... Crack is actually Cocaine cooked and harden with baking soda. Smoking Crack i think gives you a different high. The way i see it, messes up people more so then sniffing cocain. Cocaine are isolated chem. from the Coca leaves in south america. Crack is cooked from Cocaine. So technically its the same, but the high is different.
@Frogger0neXx Thats a good thought but it is wrong. It is simply stronger, that is why they do it. It's the same high, same drug, higher potency. So if it was weed it would be very good cheap weed. So it's cheaper and easier to access and sell. That is the logic behind it, so it's technically "fair" but it obviously targets one group of users.
Most people who dismiss charges of racism and cry "political correctness" are often ignorant people, or very racist -- or both. Whether they know it or not, they're defending the status quo, the "white privilege" that still thrives here. Society still sets up white people to benefit from society's ways, and essentially when you break down their dismissive claims against racism, they're wanting whites to remain in a favorable position. Their calls for "fairness" don't address white privilege.
@TsugaruClan and people who acknowledge obvious bullshit claims of racism are also ignorant. just because someone calls racism doesnt give them legitimacy
@joeratti "bullshit" claims yes. Real claims, no. You sound like one of those ignorant people who deny any and all claims of racism, because it doesn't affect you directly. And if it doesn't affect you, you don't care. Out of sight, out of mind. You resort to denial and ignorance, all to perpetuate the status quo. Can you even see the illogic in your post, and how you didn't address the issues I raised in my post? That is typical behavior of those who ignore racism and defend white privilege.

why are people ignorant? because they live sufficiently, almost everything has been prepared or can be easily attained.
why are people ignorant? because they don't have money, lack of education and jealousy drive them irrationally.
how to make people less ignorant? love.
how to get love? stop being haters.
how to stop being haters? start being lovers.
okay i understand my comment is getting stupid, what actually i want to say is there is no solution to this issue. just accept it as what it is.

Its about power and money.
madhatterten 11 months ago
@madhatterten Well... Crack is actually Cocaine cooked and harden with baking soda. Smoking Crack i think gives you a different high. The way i see it, messes up people more so then sniffing cocain. Cocaine are isolated chem. from the Coca leaves in south america. Crack is cooked from Cocaine. So technically its the same, but the high is different.
Frogger0neXx 11 months ago
@Frogger0neXx Thats a good thought but it is wrong. It is simply stronger, that is why they do it. It's the same high, same drug, higher potency. So if it was weed it would be very good cheap weed. So it's cheaper and easier to access and sell. That is the logic behind it, so it's technically "fair" but it obviously targets one group of users.

My view on racism is not about a hatred for another
race but a hated for the self. When someone calls someone
else a racial slur it's not about them being different, Just like
Hitler killing Jiwish people wasn't actually about them being
Jewish it was about the abuse his family inflicted on him that
conditioned him into hating himself and in turn he acted out
against himself. Did that make sense? That was just the point
of view I had in my head after watching you video.

TsugaruClan 11 months ago 3
@TsugaruClan and people who acknowledge obvious bullshit claims of racism are also ignorant. just because someone calls racism doesnt give them legitimacy
joeratti 10 months ago
@joeratti "bullshit" claims yes. Real claims, no. You sound like one of those ignorant people who deny any and all claims of racism, because it doesn't affect you directly. And if it doesn't affect you, you don't care. Out of sight, out of mind. You resort to denial and ignorance, all to perpetuate the status quo. Can you even see the illogic in your post, and how you didn't address the issues I raised in my post? That is typical behavior of those who ignore racism and defend white privilege.
