Flying At Mesa

well, if you work at American Eagle, you're a first officer for 15 years making max 34K a year, but when you get promoted you get about 6 figures. why is it better then working at mesa, sure better pay, but AE has much better conditions to work under.

by n by, if you didn't know, those charts with first year capt pay, thats if you've been flying for a year. if your a 7 year pilot with Mesa n getting promoted next year, you start with 8th year Capt. Pay. so first year capt pay varies, never set.

What are the chances of a buyout of Mesa? It sounds as though there has been a lot of mismanagement. Now they've gotten out of a lot of their leases and other expenses because of the bankruptcy - so I would think that Mesa might be an attractive target for another regional carrier to acquire. Or what about an employee (current and former) buyout?

Add 20 day/month on the road for this crappy money and half a million debt with interest. People need to know that their pilots make less than high school drop outs but their CEO's had a 900% pay increase since 9/11. Pilots took 50% pay cuts, CEO's took 900% increase.

now 20 years ago, you could make an okay living for 35,000 dollar pay if you flew b/w NYC and Newark as an FO, you could afford decent living, now a days you could barely live in a Condo with that much money, not to mention other extreme costs for living, like buying food, gym memberships, GAS prices, Insurance etc etc.

20 years ago, it was ok, today no.

im sooo glad i went the CRNA route 7-3:30 m-f no weekends no holidays 11 weeks paid vaca call is 1:5 with the next day off and paid for and did i mention i started out at 160,000 as a new grad and right now im at 310,000 and rae lynn told me I was crazy for leaving the program!!! LOL what a joke!!! at least im laughing all the way to the bank!!! LOL Mesa can go suck t!!!

Those are astonomical figures as apposed to A & P mechanics that are making your airplanes airworthy. We make jack and when there is a problem, (in the air or not) the FAA comes down on us. And on top of all this our pilot group has taken our jumpseat approval away. Every A& P has the right to ride jumpseat with their AIRMAN CERTIFICATE.

Two replies to this, first off the song is by M.I.A. not MGMT as another poster claimed. Secondly these pay scales/rates are obsolete. Pay has gone up substantially since this was created. Am I saying come work for Mesa? No, but the figures in this video are WAY off. I'm a 3rd year FO at Mesa making almost $50,000 so something has to be wrong.
