This song, to me, talks about someone who won't embrace all of themselves; in supernatural-horror terms, a werewolf who is terrified of his other form, or self-hating vampires who think they are demons, and they won't accept that this 'darkness' is an integral part of them. They won't even call on it to save their own lives. Hence "Terrified of what's inside to save his life" and whoever is speaking is disgusted and full of distain for them. Hence "He crawls like a worm from a bird!"

I've raised the pitch on it, that might be why XD In sony vegas you just click the audio and press the + button on your keyboard =3 In WMM or other programs I'm not sure, but theres tutorials on youtube on how to do it. I hope you manage to get your vid up! I'd love to see it ;D
