Congratulations on the news about you're Film!!! I always knew it would do well in the Film Festival Circuit. It truly is an inspiring piece and everyone we show it to is extremely touched by it... i know when we spoke you always wanted to show you're father the film... judging from the comment bellow it seems it was difficult for him to take in but i am sure like any father he must be very proud of you... and hey who knows maybe this film will make you both famous one day!
There are so many thought that come to mind about this movie. I think the thing that sticks out most about it, though, is how real it is. I really felt as if, for a few brief moments, I was Isaac. I fell that the emotions were fantastically projected to the audience in this film.
Omg can i give you a hug! that was so touching i cried and it gave me the chills! and i really loved his art really my sytle and like the colors =)

i never thought that kids could make such compelling documentaries at such a young age?! you did a great job and im sure your father would be very proud to see you taking a negative story and making something positve out of it
this movie was filmed very well.. and it can inspire kids in the same position and isaac do a film about there parents to one thing i would never get board of is family documetry.its interesting about the persons history, you never know what will happen next.

Great documentary for such a young filmmaker. He shows a command for the narative, and it is nice to see that he is not afraid to dive deep into the issue, even though it is so personal and upseting.
"The Other Side of the Picture" is a truly beautiful film. The emotion is raw, the filming is great. It is a mesmerizing, romantic story without the transparency of Disney. We don't know what will happen, and there is no predictable 'happy ending' assured, but I came out of the film hoping, as everyone probably did, that Isaac finds his father, and gets his questions answered. Truly a great job; I wish Isaac the best of luck.
awesome! i saw this last year, and its touching, since i had a similar situation. lol. best wishes! hope u make it big! honestly, its a really nice video.
An intense and poignant examination of the life of an artist. I enjoyed the music especially as well as the variety of interviews offered. My favorite part, however, was the shot of the closing of the garage door taken from inside the garage. It shows a great deal of thought went into the cinematography.
Hello I am From an Online Film Site That Featured Isaac Shrem's Films. Because about 70 Amazing reviews and ratings Isaac Shrem's film The Other Side of The Picture Won our Grand Prize Award. Isaac Has asked me to send over some of those comments to his youtube wall for his family to see.
I have two Shrem pieces. One I picked up at your house in Long Branch, and your dad signed it for me. Your mom was there that day too. I also met your mom, I think, at a small strip mall store in Ocean Township where I first saw your dad's work.
I've got a lot of paintings about Stephan Shrem (all you need, blue venus, the way we were, happy la bohème).
He was working in Paris during 2 years 2003 - 2004 and we're meet at the occasion. He has exposing in a galerie on PARIS. During this 2 years i was a friend of Stephan. But after 2004 i never seen stephan.

a truly tragic story of father and son. the way you told the story helped me to actually feel the bond grow as it progressed.
