Agree with featherlightful, I've been caregiver for 4 Pekingese since 1974, last 3 rescues, including my sweet healthy albino boy who turned 9 in June. Two of my previous girls lived 17 & 18 years of love. My 1st little princess suffered a tragic premature end beyond my control. Ever since, dedicated to rescue, & they were Pekes! All came into my life @ the right time. Each has been unique & a blessing of love & joy - angels in this musician's life. - penny

It's hard to resist them when they beg, they are so cute...but one must be consistent! Pekes KNOW how to bat their eye-lashes and work their eyes! I like to think of them as a dog with a cat attitude, as well!

My "CAPI", an Albino Peke loves pure vanilla bean icecream(Breyers), but no other sweets.

He is very healthy. And we do not feed him 'dogfood',only liver,peanutbutter biscuits(home-made)-people food that is healthy.

For example, he loves salmon,cod & rice. The Ancient Chinese Royalty fed their Pekingese

fish, of couse it wasn't polluted!

Our Misiek also loves vanilla ice cream and butter cookies but we limit these treats to an absolute minimum.His favorite is always dried chicken breast treats which he gets after he gets his meal.

Thank you for the nice comments. Misiek is just one happy peke.When he really wants something(in this case a cookie), dancing or "talking" are just a couple of his tricks.The little guy is a very fast learner and he knows our soft spots.
