So dreamy! I would love to be in a crazy religious family just like them and feel pressured to "love" some girl who I've had absolute no intimacy with at all and married as soon as I'm old enough to get someone impregnated. True love! yay!
there's nothing wrong with older kids helping, i was one of the oldest and helped babysit for free a lot, but my mom also let me have my own life and i wasn't expected to help all the time, i could go out with my friends, have a job, all that jazz. now when i have kids my mom will babysit for me :) yay!
I'm confused whenever I see the intro. I mean, "9 times the size of an average family"? Last time I checked, the average family is 2 parents, 2.5 kids. That would imply that they have 36 people in their family, not the 21 they have. 7 times might be realistic, IF we make the average family with 3 people. And I understand that an 8 year old is saying this, but honestly, he was coached by some adult who should know better.
@MissFlusche1767 I think when they originally did the 14 kids and pregnant again that the average family had 2.13 children so they rounded it to 2 - so if they were going off that, the 9 times the size could be the 9 x 2 children = 18 children.
I grew up in a large family of 10 but my parents needed us helping with the younger kids out. When my mom had her last child It was the summer between my eighteen and nineteen birthday. I probably spent more time with my little brother than my mom. This is normal. Your parents took care of you, now it time to help them out a little. And the boy vs. girl sexism is not that big. Because the duggars daughters are older than most of their boys and Josh and John David work with their father.
all of you need to stop talking bad about the duggar girls the clean and cook because they want to and they like doing that and its also their chores si stop saying that thir parents are sexist!! cuz the boys help to!!
Yeah I remember in another episode how Michelle said life was so much harder when the older children where little. Obviously she didn't have the free livein help to pass each child off to like she does now.No wonder she encouraged them to look after each other from a very early age. I would be much more likely to have more children than I have now if I had some one else (not my other children)to do all the hard yards and I could have all the nice times with the children.
its utterly amazing how that house is in total chaos when the older siblings arent there to take care fo those kids, its the parents job to do that NOT the siblings!
The more I watch this show, I get how the family structure works...
Michelle obviously gets orgasms over being in labor and Jim Bob has a hardcore pregnancy fetish. But oops! They have too many kids to handle and can't kick their pregnancy fetishes so what's the poor duggar parents to do?!
OF COURSE!
Just make the girls take care of all the little "lord's blessings"! They're just worthless girls after all, right? Just baby making, household running vaginas with bodies attached.
this is just their way of life, it may not be yours or mine, but it works for them and they seem happy, and honestly, we should take note of their values as well.
It is unbelievably selfish to continue to have children when your older children have to be the caregivers for them. The older Duggar girls did not choose to have these kids and yet they seem to be the primary care givers. It's a good thing they are so brainwashed that they don't realize how repressed and used they are by their own parents. It is truly sad, and mesmerizing much like a car crash.
Stop having kids Duggars. You have more then you can control. The parents should be able to control there own children without the help of there older daughters.Duggars girls turn 18 get out of this house and run far away.Free your shelf
Jana 20, Jill 18, Jessa 17, Jinger 16 and they all look older then their age. In this video Josh say they don't get out the house. And they have to rush back home because their mom needs the girls to help with the kids. I thought ppl say they are well behave? Look at'em. Running wild, crying, foot in child face, two kids fighting, another child nose is running, Amy don't know how the girls manage taking care of kids every day. I wouldn't change places with the Duggar girls if you paid me. lol
@JimBobsucks1, I will respond to this as MsSarcia pushed me to go and look at 3:46 , "And they have to rush back home because their mom needs the girls to help with the kids." "Josh say they don't get out the house" Okay first of all he said the Girls don't get out of the house MUCH. Not the girls are trapped in the house, they do get out, but when you're in a close knit homeschooled family like the duggars things are different, and you know Kudos to the Duggars being helpful to their parents.
@JimBobsucks1 You've never been involved in weddingn planning, have you? Trust me, there are times when the only way a woman gets out of the house when she's up to her eyeballs in a wedding is to get something for the wedding. You judging the Duggar family based on ONE episode of ONE show would be like me judging ALL Americans based on YOUR post.
It's really amazing how much they expect from the girls vs. the boys. I just watched a later episode where Josh had just had his first baby and didn't know how to put the car seat in the car! He has 17 younger brothers and sisters and he'd never put a car seat in a car before? Wow!
omg this shouldve have been a reality check for the parents. its not okay to let your olders children raise the younger. you should only have as many children as you can by YOURSELF take care of. let the older kids to be kids and free, they will learn how to be parents when they have kids.
you can practise being a parent by baby sitting but its not okay to make your 16-year-old kid to raise her/his younger siblings. They shouldn't have to take that big of a resposibility. All children should be able to live their childhood as children, not raising children.
there's huge difference in rasing the children or occasionally watching them. parents who have 2-3 children raise the children themselves and just sometimes asks the older kids to baby sit. my family has 3 children and im 7 years older than my brother but i have never had to raise him in any way. even if i wanted to teach him stuff like table manners etc, my parents have told me that it's their job not mine.
@alyssidax I helped raise my brother to the point when he decided to leave home, he left the key to the house and the note where I could find it, not our mother and father. He was only two years younger. Now I see my 8 year old nephew looking to his 14 year old or 16 year old sister's nod of approval whenever their parents tell him to do something. And so it goes to the second generation.
@makennagilbert "but if u look around people with 2 kids have the older watch the younger but they just have more kids" exactly, I was responsible for taking care of my little brother evenings and weekends until my dad was remarried when I was 12 and then I had help from my step brother and sister. There was nothing wrong with that, it was my contribution to the house, I didn't work, I didn't pay bills, so I watched my brother and did chores, which is normal for parents that don't spoil kids.
I wonder if the beginning piece about her saying no kiss until their wedding was more of just a 'announcement' to say that they weren't going to kiss until then, not really a 'serious' thing.
they sure like matching

Oh yeah because everyone else's children are sooooooo well behaved.
I work in a daycare. All children need time to be a little 'naughty'. They're kids, it happens.
Their kids are good kids. They're just that, kids.

The difference in the roles of boys and girls in the Duggar family is astonishing.
As if the older boys couldn't help at home while the girls are gone. They obviously see that ass women's work.
And I can't believe the girls made Josh's bed for him.
Josh is so much like his father in so many ways. that's not necessarily a good thing.
It was chaos at that house without the girls. It shows how little the parents do and how much they depend on them.
They have too many kids for them to control.
