  • Very Cool!! I have some Eerie Pub Videos on My Channel.. I remember this playing as We Trick or Treeted in the 1970s!! From the Houses that smelled like Incence and Indonesia..HHMMM?? LOL.. thanks For making it!!

  • I think i'll have this video on constant loop for the rest of my life.

  • Incredible! Suddenly it’s 1973 and I’m standing on my tip-toes trying to catch a glimpse of the these tawdry little miracles splayed out across the top shelf of the newsstand at People’s Drug Store. Too young to own them, but deeply mesmerized all the same...

  • This is pretty much my favorite thing in the cosmos.

  • awesome

  • This is one of the greatest things I've ever seen....awesome job!!!

  • EXCELLENT! I love that you took two beloved things from my (our, collective) childhood and have combined them into a fantastic original video! Very inspiring, thanks Jason! Now, quit wasting time and start animating "The Thrilling, Chilling, Sounds of the Haunted House"!

  • ha ha ha ha! Love it! I feel like I'm back in the 70's!

  • Found this from the JRE. Very cool!

  • still the best thing ever! i can watch this over & over again forever...literally what the inside of my head looks like...hahaha...

  • Whoah, and I thought I was the only one kinda into those old Halloween records! Great job, great images, thank you so much!

  • soooooooo cool! I collected the old story on 45 when I was younger!

  • I had this record as a kid, and remember it fondly. EXCELLENT work sir!

  • Some cool F*!Kn S%#t......Thanks !!!

  • And Tony Burrello with his "There's A New Sound" - great choice of music !

  • My goodness this is awesome. I have always been a huge horror fan especially comics and books. This is like a virtual trip through a haunted comic. Reminds me of the amusement park's "House of Horrors." Though this is much much better.

  • Hey good job! Loved those old mags.

  • Love it, love it, LOVE it!

Is the original art public domain?

  • Hey, WONDERFUL clip, put a smile on my twisted face all the way through! I have been a fan of Scar Stuff since you offered those two great Halloween CD's which I cherish. I remember stumbling across some of these extremely offensive b&w horror comics in my friend's older brother's room, we almost felt like they were taboo even then - the graphics were soooo grisly! Of course, we loved it!! I just ordered that wonderful book and can now learn all about those wacky publications!!!

  • Jason: This is one of the coolest tributes I've seen in a LONG time. The attention to detail, ability to clip, clone and build the missing graphics, and skill in tying meaningful imagery to the soundtrack is all top notch.

Your Scar Stuff blog rocks, too (been following it for years). Between your love for Halloween and Macintosh, I feel like I've discovered a long lost brother or something. Can't wait for your future contributions!

  • This is really cool The artwork reminds me of the funhouse's and spook houses at fairs. Can you please make more vids like this one my friend?

  • You did it! A great tribute to all of us Baby Boomer Geeks who wasted our youth ordering trinkets from Johnson Smith and read Erie Magazines (a weak cousin to Warren Publications, but what are you going to do?) What next, the Boris Karloff Record with script by FJA?

  • Extremely well done. This animation reminds me of those old Marvel cartoons from back in the day.

  • @DaniHooligan Ah man, perfect! That is 100% the vibe I was going for -- I even considered writing a little upbeat opening tune along the lines of those '66 Marvel theme songs but I wanted to get the project done by Halloween and time was just too tight. So glad that reference point still kinda made it through.

  • This is the CUT version of side two of the HORROR RECORD! The whole flogging segment is missing from the "torture Chamber" sequence! The record was cut in the latter 70's by Johnson Smith after complaints! I have the UNCUT version!

  • @MisterMumps Heh, I actually did that edit myself but I promise that it was purely functional. Eerie Publictions just didn't have any decent flogging covers (too tame for them I guess), but it was a tough call for sure -- that scene cracks me up!

  • Holy crap-a-zoola!

    This is damn awesome!

  • Thanks so much. Exactly what I needed to send me to sleep after a long Halloween weekend!

  • I think my favorite part is the dude hanging on the meathook by his jaw. or possibly the giant ogre eating vampirellas like they was hot wings

  • Fantastic. What great artwork. Good to see you're still at it Jason.

  • Whoa... totally AWESOME Halloween video!!

  • Awesome job. Love Frankenstein's Monster pounding a peg into a guy with his own arm.....lol.

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN JASON!

  • That was rad as hell. Great job on the animation of the art. Takes me back as you can't beat 60's and 70's horror art.

  • I love this so much,

  • 0:04 - 0:14. Please tell me there's more of this. It's the best thing I ever did hear!

  • Fan-Tastic job Guys, Very mesmerizing stuff!

I love the old mags..and I could watch this stufff all day!

  • awesome!

  • Devilishly COOL! Don't miss this one!!

  • Wow, thanks so much everyone! This was a lot of fun for me to make and I'm really glad that you're all getting such a kick out of it too.

  • I saw this posted from a blogger I follow and went... HEY - I KNOW THIS GUY!

    Truly awesome work though.

  • I only have one word...WOW!!! :)

  • This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen! Job well done!!

These Eerie publications are one of my passions in life.

  • This is the best Halloween video EVER.

  • Is it just me or does the narrator sound a bit dweebish? He sounds as menacing as my nerdy little dentist. He did a good job of cutting out all the artwork from those magazine covers and scooting them around the screen.

  • Fantastic job! I absolutely love it!

  • Really great!!

  • Remarkable work. Bravo, Jason. Bravo!

  • This is the bomb

  • So effing SWEET!

  • The guy who created this is a freakin' genius!

I won this record in some writing contest in 1973 and played it so much the grooves wore out, and bought many of these issues. Putting them together is AWESOME.

    thank you!

  • Prettyyyy :o)

  • QUESTION: When does the 3D version come out?! Gimme some F$%&ing glasses now!

    Splendid work!

  • wow, amazing. great work!

  • Richard Burton has nothing on this guy.

  • ruling dude!!!! the johnson smith catalog is where it was at!! got my laser gun plans around here somewhere...

gonna hook that up to the tv and put it in the window on the 31st!

  • Beyond awesome.

  • Excellent work, sir!

  • Fantastic! Excellent use of cover art! Almost 3-D at times.... you made these horrific scenes come alive!
