@TheHiroyukiutatane I think leon was trying to say that the Japanese prefer to comment on their own video site, where this video is reprinted from. afaik, nico was originally a mirror site of other video sharing sites, but with on-screen commenting capability in late 2006, then closed down and relaunched as a registered viewers-only website again in 2007... so nico's after youtube (2005), but as to whether japanese had other video sharing sites prior to youtube - i'm completely clueless.
