Nobody believe ggqbc. He's a damned fool. The rules were the same as every other tournament and every player (Soviet and Canadian) know it as a fact.

Just shows that 30 years later any fool punk can make up lies and sell them as truth. But that's Ok ... his penalty is to live life knowing he has no integrity. Harsh enough even if he's too much a fool to know it.

In the end. Great series by two great teams. Both exhibiting the best and worst that each way of playing was known for.

I AM CANADIAN! it is important to note that the 1972 summit series was won by the CCP/RUSSIA/SOviet union and was won very handedly! the actual tournament rules which was agreed apon by both teams was that the team with the best goal differential at the end of the series was the winner! by midway through it became a laugher and CCP clearly had it won so they began resting their players to make it more interesting. Canadians are vbery strange people so tey told their people back home different

We booed them in Vancouver because, every other time Phil and his all star team mates came to Vancouver, they filled the net. Then, as Team Canada in the coolest jerseys ever,. They came to town and, got trounced by a bunch of helmeted 'passers' in old fashioned uniforms from the 1930's. Also, we booed because Gilbert Perrault got no ice time!
