Let us talk and dig out the truth, culture, languag, historical contribution of Agew people for ancient Abyssinia.Unfortunately i am original Agew from Agew mider -Gojam,i have many plan if almighty God helps, nowadays three agewgna sound alphabets modified from Gee'z alphabets. So using this opportunity we have to do something.
Are they singing in Agewgna or in Amargna? The Agews of Seqota/Wag dance in a similar way to the Amharas or the Tegres. Can some one tell me if the agews of Gojam have the same language as the Agews of Seqota. Please educate me. Thank you.
Actually I believe Gojjam Agewegna and Sekota Agewegna are very diffrent from each other. There are also Agew speakers in Gonder, Tigrai, and Eritrea. So "Agew" really discribes many diffrent people. Culturally the Agews in Sekota, Gonder and Gojjam are Amhara to the fullest.
Agew of Eritrea are called Bilen. They migrated from Wello region of Ethiopia to Eritrea around sixteen century. Unlike Agew people of Ethiopia, they speak Bilen Language - much closer to the original Agew language.
Before the arrival of the Habeshat around 1000 BC agews lived in the area from Halhal (around Keren) to Shawa accourding to scholars Ghaber and Tamrat 1986. Sure there were two Blin migrations, one is the 10th century migration (after the kristianized agews were driven by Gudit) and the second was the 16th century migration after the defeat of the last zagwe emperor.
This seems to show that Agews were always in the place that we now call Eritrea
