I like this song so much that I think there should be an International Green Door day where everyone listens to this song while painting their door green.
bored,so lets have a dig,off we go to 'Shaky' on You Tube. Now you lot, this bloke always looked like a prat in his catalogue jumpers and those ridiculous wobbling legs,an absolute turnip if ever i saw one.Did he ever i wonder, stand in front of a mirror doing the leg wobble until he thought it was to his liking,WELL IT FAILED,IN EVERY WAY...GREEN DOOR MY ARSE! MORE LIKE INVOLUNTARY LEG TREMBLE...:-)ha ha ha ha!
For those who prefer this version I respect your feelings but Jim Lowe's version is in my opinion far superior. Just can't touch the greatness of of the original.
@synthbrennan Ha! ha! -that brought back memories -although I had to wait until I started buying my own records-- 6/8d for The Righteous Brothers " You've Lost that Lovin' Feelin"
@edel7272 Well yes, but back when Shaky was at the top the dancing was considered a far second to the music, nowadays they have to spend millions on dance lessons for the videos, because the music stinks most the time.
@Sunnyskies...Are you mad? Rock 'n' Roll started in 81? Forget Chuck Berry? If this were Teheran I'm sure you could be stoned for such Blasphemy! Shaky was ok in his day but Chuck is still Rockin at 84 yrs of age. Let me see Shaky do it at 84. Also, Shaky was only an imitator, not an original.
This version by SS really rocks. A great slop-beat, nice instrumentation, and SS's vocal adds extra dimension to this very polished production. This version IS superior to Jim Lowe's original. Nice post.
I loved shaky in the 80,s i played this song over n over that many times the tape got thrown in the bin but just hearing this song again has bought back my child hood memories.
England's Elvis.
