when hitting a car at that speed not the helmet nor the suite will prevent the breaking of every bone in your body...its better to die than live in such accidents
It is not enough, from a biker, when he is riding his bike, that he is thinking like "This car couldn't see me, this car also" etc. etc. on every meter of a ride?
And, car drivers are doing that? Are they still thinkin about "the worst" scenerio in front of them? I don't think so. As it was already mentioned here. Road is like a playground. For drivers and riders, but, for eachone in different way.
the helmit is just to keep the head intact is nothing to do with safty its just so theres a body with a head at the funeral if you have respect for your family wear a helmit same as seatbelts there not going to save your life but will insure you look your best instead of being scraped off the road with a shovel heh
no its not a lie its true the helmet is there to protect on small accident but ones including a car is either your in intensive care for like forever or you die
When I was younger I was riding a bicycle when a car driver hit me. He was on his mobile and not paying attention, I was fine and his attitude to the road is much more responsible since the accident. I think seeing a kids bike smash over his bonnet did that. But now when I'm riding around on my motorcycle I still see people on there mobiles, who think the road is there playground and don't bother paying attention to anything.
I agree, people driving around whilst talking away on a mobile phone make me sick. As a fellow biker I just wonder how long it will be before I get someone pull out on me - I just hope that when it happens I am riding defensively enough to prevent an accident.
I have come up with my own way of dealing with stooges on mobiles, i ride up next to them and lift my visor of my helmet and scream top of my lungs, GET OF UR FUCKEN FONE U STUPID TWIT!! (Thats the clean version)normally works
Forget businessmen talking on their phones, Chelsea school run mums are the worst: doing their makeup, texting and giving out to their children at the same time.
A few days ago a stupid woman pulled out in front of me to cross the main road (I had priority), looked both ways but didn't see...I crashed into her but she drove off!
But the way I see it is everyone makes mistakes: I know I break a lot of rules on my bike, but then again if anything happens, I'll be the one that gets hurt.
Spot on!, it's interesting that in this ad the motorcyclist has to take responsibility for his (or her) own safety on the road.
When on the ad's involving collisions with children, no emphasis is put on parents to ensure their children aren't allowed anywhere near a road with a knowledge of basic road safety.
Think!, make your government wise up and stop passing the buck!
@Shostadaredd That's the government here for you though. My brother gives me hell for my generation he is always banging on about how we have it easier than him. I have to admit we never had what he calls "Green cross code" guy in our school. Not once. I checked it out here and it's pretty logical really, look the fuck where you're going don't rely on numpty bollox behind the wheel or the handle bars to get out the way.. Easy really.
As Adam Savage says, there is a reason these things are called "Donorcycles" in hospitals.

both groups should look, the motorcyclist and the car driver. what if the driver was having a heart attack+ CAN'T LOOK! same thing happens.

So the Helmet is a Lie basically? lol
Might as well start forcing bikers to wear chainmail suits.
And the driver should have watched out for teleporting motorcyclist.

before anyone gets 4 wheels they should have to start off on 2.
Roads would be much safer
and people would be better drivers
twiggysmalls9 4 years ago 3
Problem with this is that some people can't balance on 2 wheels. My mum can't ride a bike but she can drive a car perfectly well.
