@sig1mil Hey man, I'm the same size as you and sat on the 250 last week. I actually found the 250 to be more comfortable than the 500. Sit on one for yourself, but it should be pretty comfortable for you as well. Hope that helps.
Hey man I was just wanting some info on day ur 250 ninja I'm interested in buying the same bike just wana knw how it does on the freeway and how fast ugh got it up to and how u like its performance.
Okay. Well here's how to break it in. You can't go by dealer specifications. It's all bull. Ride it like normal with a little restraint. You will be fine. 600 mile service should be done at the dealership. And FYI you have a 1 year unlimited mile warranty on the bike. You run it too hard and destroy the motor. It's on them ;) exactly what my dealer told me. He was very straight up about everything.
@Kvonderrecke there was someone who made a video of their ninja and the guy was 6'4 so you'll be fine ;p best thing to do just try it out in the dealership
Nice color on the bike, the 250s seem to be a very easy to own, reliable bike. Which I hear is a blast to ride because it is so light and pretty sporty for its size. Unfortunately, Squids riding 600+ Supersport class bikes are gonna flame on ya.
As for servicing, yes. It will be expensive, however, if you don't have it serviced, you lose your warranty. At the 600 mile service, all they do is have a quick look over the bike, to make sure everything's working properly, adjust the nuts and bolts to the correct torque, lubricate any parts that need it, and finally, and most importantly, change the oil and filter.
To break your enigne in, you should keep your revs quite low until the first service at 600 miles, after that, you should gradually increase the amount of revs you give it until about 1000 miles. After that, feel free to redline it as much as you want.
Beautiful bike! Just bought the same one two weeks ago and I luv it. People talk shit about the 250's but if your first time rider theres not a better bike on the marke; styling, pricing and resale value nothin comes close.
@AMAN12013 i have the 2010 250 as well.. my first bike too. i love the bike and i know im ready for an upgrade.. but ill keep my bike for a while i already did max speed . its about 110 mph i can kill my self on that speed .. so i dont need more than that .. i know in the future ill get a 600 .. but a 250 is good ..
is it really worth it to get a 250? im just scared in choosing "new" as compared to choosing "used" but faster and avoid any bsing from the other bikers putting down the 250s...=\
I've noticed most posers/kids disregard the 250, acting as if people get tired of these within a month because the 600's are faster. Yet most advanced riders praise this bike completely, and prefer it for day to day riding. Seems people go through a stupid stage then smarten up in the end. Not many people will take a 600 to it's limit, so what's the point of all the power?
@parrish001 You are absolutely right. After you have been riding for a long time you can really appreciate how well balanced this bike is. I have the same model and trim.
Nice. I'm planning on getting one of these by the end of May, but I can't decide between green or black.
Have you noticed that most people completely look over the other available options other than a 250 or 600cc? It's either they don't want to "look like a pussy" on a 250 then run right for a 600, or they want something more than a 250 but only notice the 600's. It feels like nobodies heard of anything in between the two (400, 500, 550). Haha. What's up with that?
@parrish001 There is a definate hole in that size... However the Ninja 650r is really a step between the 250r and the ZX6r as far as performance goes. I could recommend the 650r as a beginner bike for larger people since people 6+ ft tall may feel cramped on the 250r. Also in Europe, Canada and Japan, Kawi released a 400r that is based on the 650r with just a smaller motor. Have no clue if it will make it to the states though.
Yeah, I wouldn't see such a huge risk seeing a new rider on a 650r, I've read how manageable they are. Once newbies start running towards an r6 or r1 because they want to look cool, it gets sad. Most people ignorantly get a bike out of their range because they ignorantly listened to the ignorant guy who's only been riding for a few years and still feels like some kind of racer.
Oh, yeah I've seen those! I wish we'd get them here! Or at least update the 500!
I make payments, but not like a car loan. The way me deal works is, a bank approved my girlfriend for a $7,000 credit card, so they charged the bike to the card, and i make $120 a month, and I still have around $2,300 to spare, that I can use to buy gear and stuff like that :D
@azninjarider Dude it's gonna cost you over $6000 in the end and take over 50months to pay off a bike that's work $4000, sounds pretty dumb to me. Plus extra is your buying gear.
@rxvexe Thats the beauty of buying things on credit, your always end up paying more than the original price. When ever you buy a car, a house, ect. anything with a loan, thats how they make their money, with the interest that you pay. Besides, I'm only going to pay $6000 like you said if a send in the minimum, the more money a pay every month the quicker I'll pay it off. Don't get me wrong, it's always better to pay the $4000 upfront, but I don't have that kind of money just laying around :(
just got the sammee thing last week. $4,100 after everything! def get rid of the fenders cause it blows, i am. Good pick tho, its a sick bike to start with!
Also, for any new rider, you need to be aware of EVERYTHING happening around you. Always expect the worst of other drivers. If another driver 'could' pull out in front of you, act aw if that's what they are going to do. As in slow down, get ready to brake and watch their every move. Especially at intersections where drivers coming the other way can turn in front of you, crossing your path. That's what happened to me and I T Boned the car. 5 weeks in neurology ward and hospital
azninjarider, Can I offer some advice.. I wouldn't worry about getting an after market exhaust for your 250, save your money champ because you will be dying for a 600 within no time and you'll wish you saved every penny. Your black exhaust looks great! It looks afterrmarket already and a yoshi or whatever won't even give you a gain anyway. Your white ninja and black exhaust is the nicest 250 ninja I've seen. Also of course you can ride it on the hwy,I don't know what that guy is on about. And y
@matt414344 hey just out of curiosity, does the sound of a yoshimura sound good or make your bike sound better/? if you hear it in person......also what does it mean to have the BAFFLE OUT on yyour exhaust pipe lets say i decide to put a yoshimura on the 250r that i will be getting soon.??
That's a good looking bike. I want to buy a Ninja 250R also, but maybe a 2008 or so. I mostly want a starter bike and when I get the hang of it I want to upgrade to a 600.
im getting this bike for sure. your video inspired me to actually get a bike then a car. living in southern california there is no worries. this will be my first bike also, but wont really trick it out since i want a faster and better bike later on. PROPS to all motorcycle riders.

@azninjarider i live in canada bc, this bike is my dream, it looks nice, the way it would run seems like your in heaven. thanks you for the video and response
@azninjarider So, if they sold the bike to you for $3200, how much were their other fees that brought the total to $4700? The dealerships by me are charging $200 for freight, $300 for assembly, I think tax is going to be $300ish. I don't know how much registration is, but I'm figuring my total would be $5000 out the door, so I don't understand why you paid $4700 if the base price for you was $3200? You are saying there was $1500 in fees?
This bike runs on the high way fine to dont listen to anyone saying it does'nt. Also dont worry bout your rpm's man it will be fine its under warrenty anyway for a year so whats it matter. You can run the rpms what your want that engine is bullet proof
Dude dont waste your money putting exhaust on this 250 man. They sell more when there stock when you decide to sell them and you dont get no big gain in power from a exhaust save your money dude. 250's are fun but dont waste money trying to trick em out save that for a 600 or 1000 like i said tho I like the 250's fun cheap insurance and save gas but dont waste money on aftermarket parts man just enjoy it and you will grow out of it in a year move on to a bigger bike enjoy.
The Yosi or the Two Brothers are good choices for the exhaust, especially in carbon fiber.
The only new updates this year are the white faced gauges and the Pearl White / Ebony SE color. I just bought my Pearl White / Ebony today, also my first bike.
If you have an extended warranty you may have to use a shop for service. First service you usually just need an oil change, inspection is to prevent issues that may have been missed during assembly, so I wouldn't pay over $160.
dealer was gonna charge me 300+ dollars for an oil change and inspection, but i went to a another shop, and got a great deal less than -100 dollars! the experienced mechanic told me that its still a new bike. and that it just needed an oil change.! you could do it your self, but if you are, do it right :] i ride a 2010 250r SE :] check my vids lol Everyone! show some ninja love!
dude honestly with a super light bike like a 250 i wouldnt be riding on the highway but thats just me and idk about taking it to the dealer for the first service since im bearly starting to ride myself i have a the same bike but in green but yeah let me know what you do and how it turns out, oh and thumbs up for bud light lmao!
yeah, one of the guys at the dealer told the same thing about riding on highways, so i might hold on on doing that... as for my first service, im still skeptical about taking to the dealer, might just doin the oil change and call it good enough lol.... hell yea, bud light ftw lmao
