  • I want my YJ to sound like this......

  • The shadowing on this video makes it look like the smoke is coming out of the reverse lights. Which is comical.

  • Comment removed

  • Waylon Jennings should be talking us through this. Sounds beautiful.

  • Flowmaster 40 is NOT a dual out just so you know.

  • I thought this video was a photo until I seen the guy in the driver's seat head move.

  • jump it

  • Whatever you do, don't jump tis

  • put thrush glasspacks on it and itl be perfect. thats what made that miracle rumble of the real general lee.

  • Hey if its too loud for ya I'll gladly take it off your hands.

  • check out those video responses i posted! thats a sweet sounding charger aswell!

  • sounds great

  • sounds nice... i have a 1970 R/T Challenger 440.."massaged" when i had the exhaust installed..3'' flowmaster 40's...i told them..''i want men to be jealous,i want it to frighten small children..and when women hear it..they start their period!'' i think i got what i asked for

  • oh man, i want one. I love american muscle cars.

  • The louder, the better actually

  • Wow really? Too loud? I dont care how loud it is! I would kill to own a general lee, problem is I'm an 18 year old kid atm, so theres not much I can do in my power to acquire it lol I got myself a 97 Dodge Ram:)

  • @dbrandinni same here a 97 with a 360 that has bad rings and valve seals and the bearings are all shot and itll out smoke any diesel anyday lol

  • @racemolina1 lol I love my 5.9, I dont love how much gas it eats, but its truck so oh well! Lol

  • No turboshiit, just real power

  • all u vaginas crying about interior noise go get a damn prius! what kind of exhaust mounts have you been using?

  • @frodo70444 ----- Hey now... lets play nice. I get that you're young and love loud cars, but I wear ear plugs when I go shootin, and I prefer an exhaust tone I can tolerate on a long drive. I'm not sayin I need Cadilac quiet, just not brain itchin racket either! I like the sound on the outside just like everyone else, but the reality is the inside is even more loud than the outside! Part of the problem is the reverberation prone early unibody construction of the 69 Charger, just a fact of life.

  • @turbosigns really though u might just need different exhaust mounts i don't love loud cars i just love good sounding exhaust..they make some exhaust hangers that are kinda like a rubbery nylon material almost shaped like a figure 8 try using those instead of rigid mounts i bet they will make a difference..oh and i wear ear muffs when i shoot my guns too how is that relevant?

  • @frodo70444 --- You should wear ear protection while shooting, that is why you and I both do just that. I am running the rubber strap style right now, I did find one pipe rubbing the frame out back with the 40's, that made a big difference. The real problem is reverberation, not loud exhaust, flow masters just tend to reverberate, or drone. Inside it is much louder than you could imagine at certain RPMs, otherwise it would be livable. The 451 stroker is almost done, new headers & Dynomax is next

  • @turbosigns u could try using double thickness pipe too for better insulation

  • @frodo70444 ----- The new exhaust sytem is going to be 1&3/4" primary - 3" collector heavy wall headers to 3" dual system + H pipe with Dynomax or Magnaflow 3" mufflers and then straight out to turn downs - All 3" all the way! The problems I am having now come from a poorly matched system, 383 with too big cam, HP manifolds to the 2.5" H pipe system with the flowmasters, just a highly resonant system. The 3" + headers will be completely different and the magnaflows will kill the remaining drone.

  • @frodo70444 ---- The new exhaust sytem is going to be 1&3/4" primary - 3" collector heavy wall headers to 3" dual system + H pipe with Dynomax or Magnaflow 3" mufflers and then straight out to turn downs - All 3" all the way! • @turbosigns turndowns are known for drone too man just saying if you have been running turndowns they may very well be your problem id hate for you to spend all this money replacing an awesome exhaust system when 30 bucks worth of pipe and welding could fix the problem

  • @frodo70444 ---- I had the typical retangular tips on for a while, but I like the (semi) turn downs... The pipes end just below the rear bumper and only point about 20 to 30 degrees downward, nothing excessive. I ordered 2 stainless turn down tips from Summit, but I had to trim a little off them to make them identical, for some reason they were different. I'll try to post a video of the current setup, but it is much more tame than the raw 40's I had on there before. The 3" setup should be sweet.

  • @turbosigns oh ok then i thought u meant u had the exhaust dumped under the car oh and just a sidenot on dynamat if you aren't familiar with it it might do ya some good to ask guys with big sound systems if you know any where they recomend u get you car dynamated cause a poor dynamat job will rattle and it will be even worse than before dynamat has to be put in there tight with no slack in it to do its job

  • @frodo70444 --- yup... I used to own a car stereo shop in the early 90's, and one of my buddies owns Kar Toyz, I still need to dynamat from the rear seats to the trunk, and up the rear package tray... it is just required on an early unibody like this 69 charger. I still own all the speacialty rollers and burnishing tools for dynamat, but it is hard work... you work up a big sweat if you're doin it right. I already made an MDO trunk divider, it's just waiting for the dynamat to finish it off.

  • Agreed about interior noise. My Mustang was a pain in the ears on a long journey, which spoils the drive experience. So, from the headers all the way back, I wrapped the whole dual system with 2" wide exhaust wrap...........wow, what a difference. It protects the exhaust from rusting as well. Now, I can live with the interior sound levels. Bought the wrap on ebay. Not expensive,

  • well, that sounds much better , closer to a mopar , but still , flowmasters suck on a mopar, like in the other vid, makes them sound like mustwangs and firebirds/camaros,lol

dynoflow or magnaflows for the musclecar sound, but , i run terminator mufflers, back years ago when i bought them, they made about 10-12 more hp than flowmaster, cost half as much AND sound good to boot for a mopar !

  • sounds perfect

  • its..... its beautiful. i hope you wisened up and switched back to this, this is the best sounding car i've found on here so far.

  • I hate Flowmaster 40's. they are totally brain numbing on a daily driver. I don't care for the hollow tone either. I know everyone loves them, but I play my own song. I prefer glasspacks or straight pipes to 40's...

  • How fucking funny!

Before posting I read the commnets.

Com-on guys...this is a Charger, they're supposed to sound like this!

And, nothing runs like these.....I know, I have a 69.

  • It's the general :)

  • I think I just creamed my pants!

  • sounds like a monster is hiding under the hood there drinking gallons of fuel :S anyways love the Charger !

  • A Yugo could beat it.

  • @FFFFbody only in a fuel mileage race lol

  • musicas para os meus ouvidos

  • thank god your not another old man who has a quite muscle car.. let the ponies be heard damnit!

  • damn that car sounds good

  • It looks better from every angle

  • Will trade girlfriend for General Lee.

  • @ShadowFan765 ur not the only one

  • @ShadowFan765 Will trade all electronic anything for a Charger

  • hey man i will trade u my girl friend for dat car wat do usay is it a deal???

  • One big FU to Al Gore!

  • @distructor20 Make it 2 big FUs. The guy is a LIAR and a CRIMINAL..

  • Come on man, flowmaster 40's to loud give me a brake. I had them on a camaro and loved them, but neighbor's hated them. Good thing i don't care what y neighbor's like.

  • dude if i owned that it would be sitting in my garage,,,it would never be driven in rain, snow ETC,,,hell that would be a show car.

  • i have the same set up on my 68 chevelle. 2 1/2 exaust with flowmaster 40 series true duals with turn downs at the rear end. its the best sound u will ever get!

  • lmao @ anger the neighbors... Deep down we both know it isnt really the sound that angers them...It's just their Jealousy. That shi% will make your root heister.

  • thumbs up if that was 1:59 of heaven

  • This clip gave me a hard on that no other chick did... I would glady give up my first born for this car.

  • cali plates! where u live. i wana buy!

  • loud and proud go 40's

  • Looks like you have a slight oil leak on one of the valves at startup.

  • music to my ears

  • sounds better with the 40 instead of the 50

  • what the fuck have you been feeding that car!?!?! MOONSHINE?

  • too loud??? hey,, first off bro,I love the car,, but to say that it was annoying inside to listen to the 40 series mufflers? cmon man,, you want comfort, buy a caddy... Having the 40 series on this car makes everyone who loves cars get a CHUBBY when you drive by them,, when your ears start to hurt while driving, change your tampon, and just think of the Good DEED your doing to all MUSCLE car lovers everytime you drive by them. CMON MAN!!! SACK UP! you own a fucking GENERAL LEE! BE LOUD N PROUD!

  • @IRONSEAN7 ---- I will agree with you that the outside sounds amazing, but it was severe on this inside. I found out that a tube was rubbing the frame in the back, so that did make tons of noise. The biggest problem now is interior resonance... I think dynamat should fix that, I have only the trunk left to finish the job and I think I will be happy after that.

  • @turbosigns I have a father who works for a damping company, if you'd want to get in touch with their sales department I bet they can make you something fitting for something like this, see, dynamat is more for bass resonances, the resonance your hearing is coming from a different range of vibrations, honestly all I would do is get some polyester material from walmart or something and some spray adhesive, just make 3 layers of that shit and it should quiet down, will give you heat though!

  • @turbosigns I agree with you, I put 40's on my cammed up 57 BelAir and can't hear my daughter in the back seat, even with dynamat. How did you like the 50 SUVs?

  • @tommynights ----- I hate to break it to you, but they're still too loud... I know I'll catch hell for sayin it! I put magnaflow resonators in front of the FM's and glasspacks behind the FM's on each side of the tank... almost good enough. I suggest just getting magnaflows or dynomax right outta the gate and forget the MF's.

Oh boy!!! Here comes the flame threads... I can already feel it!

  • @turbosigns Well you can always get ear plugs I guess but I'm not sure how safe that is, I'm sure a man with the kind of money for a car like this has a DD too right?

  • @turbosigns Do you have any vids of the exhaust with resonators installed? I too have 40's right now with longtubes and resonance is killing me. I like it but my neighbors literally complain sometimes.

  • @jedi09 ---- There are some other vids here on my channel, check em out... I will post another vid soon of the added glass packs behind the FM's, that did the trick. I will be adding headers and removing the upstream resonators soon, so stay tuned... then comes the 451 stroker! Getting close now!!!

  • @IRONSEAN7 wait so hes complaining about the sound ?

it sounds freaking amazing and besides that he owns a fucking GENERAL LEE it will put those vw's and handa's in there place and sound bad ass doing it

  • @IRONSEAN7 who can enjoy riding in a car when you cant hear yourself think at cruise speed. i had a 40 onmy rig once and i got sick of it within a year way the hell too loud

  • @IRONSEAN7 and what if you have 40 series on your caddy? :)

  • @IRONSEAN7 hey whats with the hate on caddy? lol i got a 68 coupe deville ive been restoring for awhile and its not slow 15's in the quarter stock is faster than most new cars lol

  • @IRONSEAN7 I totally agree bro, Lets hear the fuckin thing roar

  • i want a 502 big block for this car??

  • did you see roscoe near by?

  • OMG I would not let them touch my car

  • Thats the way a car should sound.

  • this is my favorite car ever. ive wanted this car since i was 14 lol. did u build it urself?

  • hey man am i kid of 12 years old i love the dodge charger from the 70's or the 68's

its awesome thats my dream car i like your car i sub for you! .

  • The guy who posted this vid is fail.

You put loud exhaust on the car and don't want it to be loud on the inside?

Are you a douchebag that only wants to annoy other people?

  • @epiphonesg007 I dont think that he wanted to make neighbors angry(and hes ears bleeding), and thats why he switched to other system. Relax..

  • @TargaZ28

He says that interior sounds is quiter, he wrote something about using "sound blockers" to keep sound outside instead of inside.

  • it looks and sounds like you must pay so much for gas haha, what do you get for mpg? i have a 2007 Corvette Z06 and im getting on average 20 mpg.

  • @armyboy860 What mpg:s have to do with musle cars? :)

  • wow! BEAUTIFUL!!!! great sound too!

  • that sound good anyway are the general lees door welded or unwelded

  • im just asking but didnt the general have crossed roll bars in the back window but still looks nice

  • Nothing beats the sound of flowmaster!

  • @RockinGuy1994 glass packs do

  • Can you believe how many of these awsome cars they totaled on the show. checkout unicyclehoopster on you tube

  • but are the doors welded shut lol

  • very nice!!!!

  • tendrias que limpiar las bujias tira mucho umo

  • Fuck the neighbors. I got a 97 GTP headers welded into a cherry bomb than 3 inch side exit. I live in a very riceburner part of town and I piss em off every time and I pies em off every time knowing they can never be as loud as I am

  • yo dawg....imma put that on my 1993 honda civic

  • me personaly i like hearing the sound of my car more then the radio. sounds awsome man.

  • u can NEVER go wrong with mopar

  • the genral lee !

  • Muscle cars can never be too loud, this sounds fucking badass with these 40 series Flowmasters

  • B-E-A-utiful.

  • No such thing as too loud. People need to hear when a beast wakes up...

  • @SuperCansir hell ya

  • love the sound of that

  • too loud? are you shitting me?

  • Threw out about 15 different big block, small block, and slanters this has been a wired thing one late model 84 diplomat never did it .

  • Ok i have owned several mopars in my time including my brother owned three as well love them with all my heart but one wierd question.

Smoe of my older ones after sitting just after warmup like it took it to the grocery store them came out and crank her sounded just like your always take several cranks to get running. Never bothered me but why do some do that and some don't i even ran into that with my slant six 65 barracuda as well.

  • man thats pretty cool. it almost sounds like my ramcharger's exhaust. but with a little more growel to it. how fast will it go?

  • sounds like a 4-cylinder

  • Isn't it bad for the valves to rev it in neutral??

  • @yvesofzo if you dont rev it in neutral, in which "gear" you want to rev it without a burnout then?

  • @DRIFTking95M I was just wondering if it doesn't damage the valves... And you are a bit of a smartass fopr a fifteen year old

  • @yvesofzo hmm, i just replied you, and told you that its the only way to rev a car in neutral if its automatic.... if you have a clutch you can rev in every gear :P....

im just interested in cars, and know a bit of how they work, thats all...

  • @DRIFTking95M rrrrrright....

  • Such a beautiful car. Lucky lucky man.

  • sounds pretty beast bro!

  • i want that car

  • sounds fucking amazing

  • I think the 40s are perfect for a car like this.

  • General Lee horn ??? :D

  • Are those cooper cobras on there?

  • Very Nice looking car

  • Screw the neighbors. If they want it quieter they can buy you new mufflers

  • Cool!

  • out of all your videos i like this exhaust the best! MOPARS ROCK!!! I wish the new chargers looked at least similar to the old ones. the new challengers are spot on.

  • what motor? please tell us a little more in the vid. im assuming a 383 or 440

  • @zdeckich ---- it's a 383 with ALL the Eddies go fast bits minus their carb... the carb is a 700CFM Holley DBL pumper mech secondaries, I like the ease of tuning on the holleys. The biggest problem I see with the current setup is the HP cast manafolds, they are soon to be replaced with Heddman Elite ceramacoat heavy wall headers.

  • good choice on the mechanical secondary holley carb. cant tell you how many times the vacuum secondarys screwed up my day with mopars. The 383 hp especially. and edelbrocks just dont do the job for mopar motors.

  • @zdeckich My dad had one of theese, 383 mag with, had 4 on the floor, but after the 2nd tranny went out, got an auto out of a cuda' cop car. Said it would pull a 4 inch wheelie in 1st with the 4spd, but the auto hurt takeoff and it wouldnt bring them off the ground anymore, but would bury the speedo with ease and plenty more to go. Sadly, he sold it 11 months before I was born :'(

  • @emgpickups1990 THey never used a 'Cuda for a cop car.

  • @dwc4343 I beg to differ, Winchester and Clay City PD in Kentucky did. Not sure of who else

  • @dwc4343 I am going off of what I have been told by 5 or 6 people though, it's word of mouth, but doubt the people would lie about somthing trivial like that. Myself, sadly, am too young, and the muscle car era was long gone before I was born in '90 (::crys a little inside::)

  • nice

  • if this is to loud in the interior why dont you put down some dynomat that wil reduce interior noise conciderably

  • my future car, right now its my dream car!

  • <3 <3 <3

  • That car is really badass, I would have just left the 40's on there. Of course if it was really that bad in the interior, I guess I can't blame you.

  • Us hillbilly's down here in Tallahassee love that

  • should have kept it. Sounds great.

  • DO A BARREL ROLL

  • not 4 me man!!!!!!!!

  • i would have left the 40's on there. just like goodride2004 said, "a charger can never be TOO loud lol"

  • wow that sounds way different than my truck with the same exhaust and size.

  • @Jimbo5123-- YOu wont enjoy the sound og the glass pack as u would flowmaster i thiught the same

  • SWEET RIDE U GOT THERE MAN SOUNDS AWSOME

  • SOUNDS BAD ASS SWEET CAR

  • my dick is hard

  • sounds like a monster

  • Bo and Luke Cooter Uncle Jessie and even Daisy would all smake you for saying its to loud

  • Charger- perfect

    Sound - the best ever

General Lee Style - my dream car

    AMERICAN POWER

  • I think your either somewhat crazy or too old...this set-up you have here is perfect and if it was me i would go with 10 series and let your cam bloom. This cant be your daily driver and if it is buy a moped and leave it alone!

  • i think it sounds incredible, however its kinda a owners choice eh? if it was viewer's i vote keep it the way it is, sounds like muscle.

  • ahhhh the sound of power........oh gotta change the shorts now....mmm love it

  • the general is suppose to be loud if you dont like that buy a smart car

  • dude..i feel your pain..sometimes they are too loud...easy fix..keep the pipes..put dynamat under the carpet...you can hear the radio and still piss off the neighbors...had a 454 in a 70 nova...loud as Satans fart....dynamat hooked me up...

  • the general shouldnt take that long to start

  • I love Charger 69

  • that is the same exact exhaust i have on my car i like the sound alot but like you previously said it makes too much interior noise.... iv been thinking about putting some glass packs for exhaust instead

  • @Jimbo5123 ----- I am thinking about going with the Dynomax VT mufflers... best of both worlds.

  • @turbosigns great car ive got one of my own waitin to be restored....the only problem is its the embarrassment aka general lee i mean they only TRASSSSHED many chargers :( and your supporting that by painting it like that, dont get me wrong if it was just orange itd be ok lol just general lee is like admitting you voted for obama

  • @turbosigns can you post a video with those new Dynomax VT mufflers installed?

  • @Jimbo5123 ya i have glass packs for my 72 nova and sounds good on the out side and not bad at all on the inside

  • @Jimbo5123 i agree with that def go with the glass packs...lol

  • @motomas933 lmfao whatsup
