Sorry to burst your bubble trackrat, but Paul and Joey spoke the next day, I believe it was. Joey himself said that after looking at all the footage that it was, in fact, his own fault.
I feel so annoyed by this post, Paul had no hand in the horrific accident, in fact if you watch closely he let off the gas when Joey started coming over but unfortuantely it was not enough, total innocent racing incident that would not have happened, it was 100% the tracks fault and Joey should have went off into the grass in an unspectacular fashion. Neither driver is at fault and it is a shame some want to point the finger at Paul.
The more I watch it ,the more nasty and DIRTY it is..Good drivers dont do that to fellow drivers,there was no chance of him getting by at that point, just impatient redneck diving.
Okay, so you apparently aren't looking at the facts and are indeed a novice to race car driving. This kind of driving is common and necessary to advance one's position, however it usually results in a maximum insult of a nice drive through the grass, yet this was horrific because of neglect by the tract: ie a big ramp on the side of the track. Totally negligent and was a cause of the incident

Obviously your "stfu" is a sign off a weak argument. When people can't defend their position they often resort to cursing. We all share terrible remorse for what happened to poor Joey, but you cannot blame the other driver that is ridiculous. Anyways we can agree to disagree I guess...
I believe it's a piece of track from the short version of the track. Like a bi-pass. The corner probably has a bit of banking, which causes the sudden rise.

No. He took some time off and returned to racing the next year. He's back in the Rolex Series again and doing well.
