  • Anyone with conservative religious views ends up being called "Taliban." Christians, Muslims (obviously), maybe relgious Jews are exempt from this description, but that has to be the exception.

Remember, Christ said that "All men will hate you because of me..." This abuse is part of being a Christian. (Yeah, as human beings it makes up angry, but it is as was foretold.) And no, I'm not RC, but I have sympathy for the abuse they recieve.

  • The Taliban may be lacking in many ways, but they at least have one thing the heterodox Catholics in the establishment don't: a spine.

  • Haha! This was great-made my day. Thank you for saying what you did Mike, here-here!

  • the logic just flows and it all goes together....and it makes sense withouth trying to hard to understant it...and the #of views lets me know it struck a nerve....good

  • So what term is applied to the liberal relativist "Catholics?"

  • @neoinarien Other than the one you just used? CINOs is popular - because they are Catholics In Name Only, lacking most if not all of the distinguishing qualities of a Catholic except formal membership and the name (they deny doctrines, promote sins, unrepentantly perform sinful acts etc.)

  • @RealCatholicTV I like it! Just so we're all on the same page: is that a hard or soft C in CINO? (C as in call or C as in cell)?

As always: keep up the good work!

  • @neoinarien "see-noh", I think. Although some people also like ChINO (Christian In Name Only) which is pronounced "chee-noh"

  • I was called a "terrorist" for posting pro-life videos on my Facebook page! I couldn't believe that, I mean how am I a terrorist for defending human life? Isn't that an oxymoron?

  • SUPERLIKE!!!

  • Got the message, J.A.? I followed you sometime, your pen seemed "moderate" to me, you know, "not extreme". But then I understood something (still reading your articles, so I owe you this): "moderate" could be good in many aspects of life, needless to say, but not in the faith. Sounds like a surprised? "Isn't this being precisely a Taliban?" you would say... Well, try calling Jesus "a moderate". Good luck!

So, Michael, good that you brought this up.

  • I wonder if the priest Mr. Voris refers to had the imagination to think up such a "clever" little moniker. I once saw the comedian Jim Gaffigan crack a joke about his wife being a "jihadist" Catholic. Just an FYI. Great Vortex, Michael.

  • All you need to do is google "The Index of Leading Catholic Indicators" to see the decline of the church in hard numbers, due to you, what epithet should I use - Faithophobes, for a start, I guess. Thanks to your influence, we have empty seminaries, empty convents. Catholic schools closing because of empty convents - the "sisters" decided long ago that teaching kids wasn't sexy enough. Someday you will appear before God to account for the destruction you have wrought.

  • Heh, I was there when said journalist coined the term at my University.

  • Bravo! I would say this is typical of leftist Alinsky tactics, as Chuck Schumer revealed recently, admitting the Dem instruction to use words like 'extremist' to denegrate his opponents, but it goes way beyond Alinsky. It goes all the way to Alinsky's mentor, to whom he dedicated his book about these tactics, Lucifer, the father of lies, and leftist Catholics are up to their eyeballs in Alinsky ideals/methods. I find it harder and harder to pray for these people, though they surely need it.

  • As a fellow-conuntrywoman to the priest/journalist in question, I can tell you that I am embarassed and even a bit frightened by all of it. This priest could end up as a Bishop, with his high presence. Pray, Pray that God's will be done in this.

I do not want to be a 'middle of the road" Catholic!

  • I say we co-opt the term and own it. Put it on a bumper sticker, "Proud Taliban Catholic".

  • @elcamaras Yes, because that would just be LOVELY to those people who are fighting the Taliban and getting arms and legs blown off by IEDs, and SO respectful to the pro-life movement which repudiates any sort of violence. Being called a radical or fundamentalist is fine - we are those things - but not Taliban.

  • @elcamaras Perhaps you might want to rethink your suggestion? Take the word "Taliban" out and replace it with "Nazi', (same culture of death, different name), and you might change your comment.Nothing to be proud about as a Taliban or a Nazi, both are of satan. How horrible it is for someone to compare a faithful Catholic to the likes of hate mongerers and murderers. It is sooooo wrong, and anti-Christian.May God awaken them to the errors of their ways, and bring them to their knees.

  • The term 'Taliban' Catholic was coined by a certain journalist from the 'liberal' wing of the Catholic Church to attack 'Traditionalist' Catholics. However, one has to ask the question, 'Is it 'Taliban' to oppose contraception, abortion, homosexual sex, belief in transubstantiation, and other traditional catholic beliefs?' Liberals at this very moment are trying to get the Vatican to give them powers to control the content of Catholic internet sites which are 'Judgmental' on other Catholics!!!

  • Great video Michael, it's a bullseye impact...

  • No matter how long I will look at myself in the mirror any resemblance with a Taliban is not obvious to my. What are they talking about? Try to apply this, let's say, to Cardinal Sgreccia: a chief Taliban? Each time I am finishing by having a good laugh. Imagining also the perplexity of Saint Francis about the "spiciesist" thing...Yet, next time when presented to a progressive, modern Catholic shall I introduce myself as a "Taliban"?!?

  • good on ya Mike

  • How hurtful to the body of Christ, those who label the faithful as "Taliban". Shame on them. Enough is enough.

  • yes!! "enough is enough" thank you for proclaiming the True Message..

  • All I can say is Thank you, thank you, thank you Michael

  • Way to go! Keep it up!

  • That was pure inspiration, Michael. You hit yet another Vortex out of the park. "Taliban Catholic"...makes me SICK.

  • Amen Michael. Testify bro'.

  • GO Michael!!!!!!

Enough is enough!! This is an encouragement to all of us. It is also our responsibility to defend the Church that the shepherds have neglected!! Like the tree that bears no fruit, God will cut them all down!

  • Love your videos! I was so excited when I saw you mentioned in the Catholic newspaper here in the Archdiocese of Vancouver this week. Keep it up! - from an 18 year old who recently recognised the incredible gift we have in the Catholic faith through the Vortex.

  • Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!

Thanks for giving us a voice!

    God bless you!

  • Michael, you look tired. I recommend some rest and prayer time. The taliban catholic term is truly sinful. The mission of the church is to show the love of Jesus to all the world and bring them into believing in Jesus as Lord and savior and living a life that give praise to God. Love for all Christians and for sure all Catholics need to exist or our witness is with out power.

  • @MRGV7373 Charity is Love of God. If you love God then you have to love others. If you love others then you want them to have eternal life. If you want them to have eternal life then you have to teach them about what they need to do to love God. That includes reprimanding, guiding, and the word "no." Michael practices charity by teaching the faith and calling out dissenters of the faith. He will have eternal rest soon enough, now it is time to fight the good fight. No fencesitters in Heaven.

  • @MRGV7373 Michael certainly does not look tired. Did you watch the video, he's referring to the leftist liberal "catholics" calling those of us who are truly Catholic and faithful that nasty term. Yes, the mission of the church is to show the love of Jesus, even if that means driving the unfaithful away into one of the thousands of false denominations around the world.

  • Unlike the Taliban, we pray for the conversion of un-believers, so

I agree it is ridiculous to compare any peace loving Christian

to a host of barbarians. Christ calls us to pray, not slay.

  • Well said! We R now living the prophecy:Bishops will oppose their brother bishops--the careerist, looney liturgists & their functionaries are directly responsibile for the willful destruction of 3 generations of souls. Yes, we should pray fervently for these souls. We must also stand and fight heresy-NOW! These people characterize our Lord as a passive wimp- He fashioned a whip and turned over tables- there's also a fig tree that no one would want to be. Pray for mercy but be warriors for truth!

  • Worldly association from worldly priests to make sense of their worldly views. No shock there...

  • It will be interesting to see what response, if any, this generates. I have been very dismayed by a journalist who loves to portray himself as so very unbiased (and connected) and that priest you reference repeatedly attacking faithful Catholics as taliban or worse. But it is a typical tactic of the left, as we have seen in the attacks on Tea Parties, or pro-lifers, or those opposed to "gay marriage," etc. I am sorry you felt compelled to produce this particular video. I pray for you.

  • Catholics bashing other Catholics- shame. We have enough enemies, but priests yet? Picture the Cure of Ars doing this!

  • I sometimes think these Catholic or others are philosophically ill. They refuse to look at the fact that the pews are not overflowing like it was in the 1950s. Huge numbers of Catholics are not attenting Sunday mass. All you have to do is to look at Easter Sunday Mass.

  • Here in Liverpool England, our Church is in free fall and the response from our bishops is unbelieveable. As long as the syncophants and anyone without a hint of testosterone queries their actions all is well, but forget anyone with a brain asking a question and getting a response.Only those with a job in Catholicism are responded to.

  • @justjacqueline2004 Unfortunately the hierarchy in England and Wales is detrimental. Let us pray for holy shepherds.

  • @justjacqueline2004

The Archbishop will retire within two years. It will get better with prayer. We have the same problem in Salford Diocese.
