I also did a case study on Famagusta for my degree so I know all the relvent history, I know that in 1974 the Turkish army invaded Cypus, forcing thousands of innocent Cypriots to flee their homes and run for their lives. The Turkish army stated that after 30 years, Northen Cyprus would return to Cypriot control but 34 years later this has still not happend!

You can get a boat trip from either Protaras or Aiga Napa which will take you to within a mile or so of the coastline of Famagusta, from there you can look through binoculars. VERGIS - it is obvious you don't know the facts - the Cypriot Government called all troops from Famagusta to defend the capital Nicosia at all costs since had Nicosia fallen along with all the Ministries - the game would have been over. As a result, the battlefront was held inside Nicosia and the Turks were unable to take it. You say the Cypriots are pussies - having just been betrayed by mother Greece moral was very low and everyone was disillusioned and therefore very disorganised.

I am not just interested in holidays! I lived in Cyprus for two years and have many Cypriot friends! I also did a case study on Famagusta for my degree so I know all the relvent history, I know that in 1974 the Turkish army invaded Cypus, forcing thousands of innocent Cypriots to flee their homes and run for their lives. The Turkish army stated that after 30 years, Northen Cyprus would return to Cypriot control but 34 years later this has still not happend!

no its not true.we want turkeybut we dont want unemployed un educated people who came from undeveloped parts of turkey.thats it.but most of the hotels in kyrenia owned by turkish!so its not that easy to tell turkey people to go back! so there must be a solution including greece turkey and cyprus.otherwise the island will stay like that!also why greeks hate turkish ?the government and army did the operation! not the citizens of turkey nobody asked their opinions.they are innocent

I believe what your saying is right! It's not the fault of the Turkish citizens, but after reading the vicious comments left on Youtube by the Turkish, calling the Cypriots cowards, it makes me think they deserve every bad word said about them!
Obviously the Turkish people who dont support the unecessary invasion of Cyprus don't deserve to be called such names, but I bet you won't find many beacuse the majority of them are nasty people!

iv been to the border of the capital city nicosia, and it is really scary, it makes u want to learn more, u van see buildings that have not been touched for about 30 years, wen i went i could see turkish soldiers playing football about 50 yards behind the border, i wish i could go again and view more, its so freaky

A part of Famagusta called Varosi, is completly abandoned and fenced. The invading turkish army does not allow anyone to enter this part of the city. All legal inhabitants of the city were forced out of their houses in 1974

You can get a boat trip from either Protaras or Aiga Napa which will take you to within a mile or so of the coastline of Famagusta, from there you can look through binoculars. It is a shocking experience. Its not just a small town, its a big, big place. I would say its not far off the size of Aiga Napa. Makes you think i tell you.

It can conduct air assault operations with a lift capability of up to 7 battalions at a time, day and night.
