yeah but im telling you, this is nothing like the real thing, im no expert, but ffs look how slow they took to fire as they entered the rooms, and their attitudes, it is a bit hollywood
the blue troop leader is chris ryan, who is ex SAS, he was the co-ordinator, making sure everything was as realistic as possible. he left series 2, which is one of the reasons it went shit.
Like he says earlier in the video, stopping to help them may result in a tango sneaking up on them and killing the team since he's not watching his sector, instead helping the injured.
the sas work by using 99 percent surveilance they log monitor and record every mans location and when they are satisfied they know where they all are they go in the recon guys contantly tell them where the "x-rays" are if u slow down the the breaking in then the baddies could be anywhere turning the SAS into SWAT out of all the recruits for the SAS only 10 percent pass and dont forget all of them have to be marines for approx 3 years so every sas man is valuable
Any person with 3 years military service (currently servicing) can apply for selection with the SAS however a good majority come from the Marines & Paras.
If you're good enough you're in, whichever regiment you originate. I'd give higher props to anyone from the RAF getting in simply because they would need to adjust far more than someone from the Para's, Marines etc.
almost all - if not all of what you said is wrong. SAS can be taken from ANY part of the armed forces if they recive recomendation and ask to be put on selection. people from RAF defence regiments have gotten in. the part about being a marine for three years is balls becouse the ONLY requirement for SAS is that you have served full time in the armed forces for 4 years after training. regardelss of being a marine, parra or engineer. stop talking shit youve red in books
60% of the SAS are former Para's, some are Marines (such as Bob Consiglio from the Bravo Two Zero patrol) however most Marines tend to prefer to go to the SBS. one thing i've been wondering about can Gurkhas go into the SAS, if they couldn't before they probably can now that they're being granted British Citizenship.
Here's the facts. 1. You don't recieve a reccomendation for the SAS, you apply. You do this by filling in a defence council instruction. 2. Gurkhas can join the SAS as can any commonwealth soldier. They are a part of the British Army (Brigade of Gurkha).
I thought it was 3 years before you could apply, unless you join the reserves.
