I love Leona Lewis , and every single song she does BEUTIFUL .....however this is the one version of a song a just didnt like, she sounds like shes holding back. Its not bad its just not her greatest. I do perfer SP version as well and I heard this one first. I just love when Leona belts her voice out shes AMAZING this just didnt do it for me. I came here to hear what Connie Talbot was using for her interpretation of this song, which she recently performed at the LG Arena as well as at her home. I also listened to Snow Partol's original version. Connie sometimes sounds better than original songs and rarely does not sound as good. This song is different. This song amazes me -- I honestly love all 3 versions. Beautiful! This is the first time I have heard Leona doing something I really like.

I prefer Leona's version. I can appreciate that it is Snow Patrol's song, though. The song has been done for 2 different genre's of music. I don't think if an SP fan enjoys Leona's version it means their not loyal to SP, that's just ridiculous, which is why I don't understand some of these comments. SP redid a U2 song, and no one is crying about it, even SP's GAry Lightbody is mature enough to accpet Leona's version and said himself that it's beautiful. Some of SP's stans need to grow up.

I've listened to Leona's cover and it is quite good. Snow Patrol is good also. But, there is another cover of this done by Connie Talbot, and it is an at home karaoke cover by a 10 year that will blow your socks off. And better than either Leona and SP. Go see for yourself. @cococrane1 Sure you can...Whitney Houston, "I Will Always Love You". Dolly Parton wrote it, but I'm pretty sure general consensus (which is entirely accurate this time) is that Whitney's version is the definitive one. If someone does a better job of your song than you do, more power to them.

Now, I love both versions. The instrumentation in the last two minutes of Snow Patrol's is just as effective as the chorus and orchestra in Leona's. But if forced to choose...Leona, by a nose.

Leona has a lovely voice. The only problem I have with this version is that this song really doesn't suit the over polished tone, the conforming sound it's been forced into. It removes a lot of the passion that was in the original. The backing is so horribly generic, and next to it Leona just sounds like any other singer.

There's no individuality. Leona has a good voice. Snow Patrol is Great. This version sucks.

I really don't understand why people are convinced that the two versions of the song need to be pitted against one another. Personally, I like both. Leona is a very talented singer. Snow Patrol is a very talented group of song writers. If ANYTHING all this cover proves is that Leona can sing, and that Snow Patrol has written an amazing song that has many dimensions to it. The cover is a compliment to BOTH of them.

This version is beautiful, I think the reason, at least for me, that the Snow Patrol seems so much more powerful and personal is the atmosphere they are able to create in the song, instrumentally. Also, they were the ones to write it, so they definitely have the emotional insight into this song they can express in the song whereas Leona Lewis is trying to interpret. I think the key is to allow the lyrics to take on a meaning significant to the artist, I'm not sure she accomplishes this.
