Mine crashed like crazy today (I just got the Touch for my birthday a few days ago so it's still new to me), I couldn't even get through a whole song before it'd jump back t the main menu.
that happened to me on the first gen ipod with some songs from an original CD. I had to delete the songs and rip (download) them again, luckly for me it was just a few 6 songs idk about u but they were mp3 not ACC
iPods usually do that for mp3 songs that are uncoded with beat-rates more then 320 or less than 120.

i would guess those files are corrupted in some way... did u get them from itunes or from a filesharing website ?

I guess that too. I converted them into AAC, and it works.
But it sucks anyway: if it's work on ipod shuffle and ipod nano (firts versions) why not on an upgrades ipod?
