  • My cat is now pissed off thanks to you...

  • um my cat doesn`t really respond to treats he only responds to petting i have taught him to sit and lift his front paw on command on my own but when i tried to teach him this he didnt respond dispite him learning other tricks fine. do you have any suggestion snot envolving treats?

  • What kind of treats would you recommend?

  • I cant catch my cat :(

  • My cat knows how to stand on her back legs, how to wave, how to sit, and how to ome, but she hates her paws being held. help?

  • I've taught my cat to shake hands, but now he seems to be confusing it with grabbing; he shakes, and then grabs the treat out of my hands rather then putting his paw back down and waiting for me to give it to him. What should I do??

  • im so happy im gonna get a Kitten i dont know when. ill name it pinky. i made a house made of box for pinky. anyway i dont have a kitten yet.

  • What are you using as a treat?

  • 0.46 into the video... Is the hole in the floor an Iraqie cat litter box LOL. God I remember the hole in the floor restrooms.

  • holly shity u have a lot of cats

  • I'm starting to think about training my cat, but she's sick right now, so I'll have to wait until we get her seen at the doctors.

Secondly, what was grammatically incorrect with that comment? Please tell me, and ill fix it,

  • I kept cutting my cat's nails and now he's too afraid of giving me his hand. Every time i try to hold his hand, he pulls back. =L

  • I kept cutting my cat's nails and now he's too afraid of giving me his hand. Every time i try to hold his hand, he pulls back. =L

  • cj looks like my troubble

  • how many mirrors have u got in your house 0.o :o

  • Excellent.

  • Um my cat really likes going outside do you think that if i shook her paw before i opened the door she learn how to do it instead of giving her treats?

  • What's that at 0:46???

  • @VanillaLimeCoke i think is for the cat to poo poo

  • Why Would Someone Dislike This?

  • Don't hit your cat!!!

  • My cats are two years old and they don't do anything...

    Just eat and sleep TT.TT

  • 6 People Are Lazy...

  • i taught my cat how to sit and look away, next is roll over. do u know how 2 do that?

  • I NEED HELP! PLEASE! When i do this to my cat, i grab the paw and then feed himthe treat while i hold his paw. BUT whenever i grab it he visciously backs up and shakes away. I can never grab it enough to feed him the treat :P And no im not hurting him i know how to grab a cats paw.

  • I taught my cat how to shake, this video is much like how I taught her, she also knows how to high five and knuckle bump. But they're all very similar so it wasn't very hard. Good video.

  • my cat didnt do it...is she stupid?!

  • @astralone1000 no cats are stupid :)

  • The cat needs to have that kind of intelligence also. My europian shorthair can't shake paws for instance, but she can sit on command. With my somali cat I can teach him everything. To lay down, sit and shake paws and to jump up :] As long as he gets his food after.

  • My kitten is only about 2 months old but he is too playful XD can't get him to do it rite

  • be patient....keep trying and if he will not do it now, when he is older he will.

  • hey um i tried this with my cats (both of them) insted of shaking they just licked my hand XD

  • My cat scratched me when I pulled my hand away when he was sniffing my hand. And I'm 12 and I'm afraid he'll scratch me again pleaseee help I really wanna teach him. My cat is about 12 or 13 please help!

  • my cat did it the first time i asked (i think he watches tv) then the next day when i tryed to show my mom i think he was trying to arm wrestle with me.. it was so crazy i just thought it was so funny

  • So cuteee =D my cat doesn't likke treats though<3

  • hey, our cat is 7 human years old. can i still teach her tricks??

  • Yes, your cat can learn tricks at any age. Usually the younger the better however with that said sometimes a cat that has matured is not as playful and will have a bit more of an attention span therefore making it easier to teach. The white cat in this video has shaken hands since he was a kitten however at 11 years old, we just taught him how to sit on command.(for his treats). Jake, the stripped cat in this video who shakes doing other so many times has known how to "sit" for years!

  • @n4ktz Wow man, this was the 2th timer taht i heard teh difference about audio on 240p 360p and 480p

  • @DahlingDaisy I taught my cat a few tricks at age of 9.

So yes, you can definately do it! :)

  • @DahlingDaisy yes, you can. My cat is 8, and she still learns new tricks :)

  • He sounds very CUTE! Start to teach him early....he will learn how to do all the tricks faster when he is young!

We have a friend who has a Ragdoll...he is one of the sweetest cats we know!

  • Lol, so much harder than Dogs... Dog took me an hour Frikken Cat days... And you need to feed it in reture !!! lol

  • it dusend work on my to cats

  • If you stay with it, do it daily just a few minutes (with a treat yor cat really likes)...He/she will learn how!! Be patient!!!!!

  • wow!!

  • I didn't have the tree thingy, so i did the paper that she likes to play with. Whenever i say shake hands she lifts her paw and pulls it back. I don't get it!

  • @ajaxocampo i used chicken feather

  • @RusyaidiDzulkifli Thanks RusyaidiDzulkifli I'll try that.

  • Lol I enjoy my cats being.. dumb and ignorant. One is lazy and sleeps, and the other playful, the latter jumps on the lazy cat and he hisses, and the playful cat loves to annoy him as much as he can

  • lmfaoo, i taught my cat how to shake hands.. was so cool when he finally learnt it :D

  • cool! am going to try it with my cat :)

    keep up the good work

  • Awesome videos!

  • What if your cat doesn't like treats... haha.

  • nice video ;)

  • Very cool! My cat is quite old, his 18 actually and im surprised he was able to do it. It only took a few days and he already understands what i mean.

  • Congratulations on teaching your cat to shake hands! Cats are very smart animals and can learn many other tricks.

  • will this work with my 12 week old midget kitten

  • I will never give much food to my cat I Dont wanna make her fat I want her Handsome,Smart and Muscular........................

  • omg my cat did it. thank you sooo much omg soo cool thankss make more video please i love it thnxx bye:)

  • Way to go!!! All cats can shake if enough time is spent with them! Some just take more than others! You will have years of fun shaking hands with your cat!

  • omg my cat did it. thank you sooo much omg soo cool thankss make more vidios please i love it thnxx bye:)

  • Will have to do one showing one of my cats sitting on command! Jake is good at that to!

  • Lol, if only my cats would do that. I just tried it with one of mine and he almost attacked me.. in time, maybe

  • 0:12 We have a cathouse JUST like that! and a little square bos thing at the top of the screen... except its purple with yellow outline.

  • All ur cats are fat, u fed them too much food.

  • @aishido1

    Probably...but they are happy!

  • HI!! today one of my 18 week old kittens just shook hands with me and when he did that a lightbulb went on in my head!! the action was totally voluntary! and i've had experience with training dogs so I've always wanted to do that with kitties!!! I think I'll give it a try!! :) thanks for this encouraging video!! :)

  • Sooooo cute! :D:D

  • Glad you like the tricks our cats do. Jake also will sit on command!

  • Hard to say how many hours it will take. It takes time. Do training for 10-15 minutes, maybe 2 times a day, maximum 3. give it some time and yes you can teach cat to do other tricks using same technique!

  • i cant get my cat to do it because he does not take the treats from my hand :{

  • After doing trick, place treat on floor. Just make sure your cat knows you have the treat. Do not think it will matter if your cat eats it from your hand or floor. Just reward giving the treat....not until after trick. Pretty soon they will do trick without you having to manually take their paw and will hand it to you theirself!

  • Steps to teach cat to shake and how to teach cat to sit!

    Steps

    1) Arrange training session a couple of hours before cat's regular mealtime. S/he should be a bit hungry. No need to starve them!

    2) Have your cat's favorite treat on hand. Something they really like(sliced deli turkey is a good one)

    3) Show kitty the treat. Let them smell it.

    see next post!

  • I love how you have alot of toys for them<3 and I spend alot of time with my cats too,I also love how you have 3 cats haha I wish I could have that many. I'm gonna start training my cat how to shake in a few minutes(: From 3:18 to 3:28 your white cat started vibrating its tail, that means he or she is very excited! Your cats are adorable!

  • Thank you! We love them! We actually have more than 3. We have another set in the other part of our house! They do not all get along so we have to keep them apart. Jake does get supervised visitation however we have to keep an eye on him because he will on occasion try to attach the others!! We have a black and white cat named Minka and another white one with no tail and 2 different color eyes! See other videos!

  • jacke rocks

  • He is a great cat! We love him!

  • thats cool thx!! but do kittens respond too? I have a female kitten and she's playful, but i wonder if she will respond to these tricks.

  • Yes, when they are kittens is the best time to start to teach them....just be patient.

  • i have a white cat just like yours her name is lucky :)

  • One of our cats is named Lucky also but he is neurotic and stays under the bed. He does not like to be touched but we keep him because we know no one else would ever take a cat like that...he is truely Lucky!

  • Silly Hooman just gimme teh Noms! :P

  • you mean 3

  • I got the same cat!!!

  • They could probably lose a bit however we do feed them all natural cat food with NO CORN or corn product. Most people are not even aware their cat food has this in it and it is not good for their cats.

  • I cant belive that two people didnt like this!

  • Most people really enjoyed this video clip of how to teach their cat to shake!

  • @cocki1 now it is 3 people who didnt like this:(

  • are u an army?

  • no but my wifes father is retired army, her brother was an army helicopter pilot and she was born in Germany.

  • Hi. When you put the camera on the closet area there was something that looks like a hole in the ground? what is that for?

  • We have 2 sets of cats because they do not all get along. The master bedroom is on the main and has 3 of our cats. We put a hole in the linen closet with steps on the wall so the 3 could have access to the bedroom and basement(which is finished). They love going up and down the hole although we do have one of the 3 getting older who stays up most the time! We have another video that shows some of our home cat modifications!

  • is it preferable that cat is hungry

  • Always works a bit better if the cat is hungry however usually a treat like turkey is always wanted by a kitty in training.

  • Tv on the bath! how long do you use in there? 2 hours ? :D

  • Many people have a TV in the Bathroom. It is a nice option and will help oneday when we go to sell our home. Nice to watch news while getting ready in morning, watch TV while relaxing in Jacuzzi tub and not to miss a play while watching a Football game! Yep, even have cable for it!

  • that was relley helpful and I "liked" & subscribe & here I'm comment plz till me more!

  • Glad you liked video. What else would you like to know or see?

  • jake is so sensible!! subscribed! :D

  • We call Jake our All American Kitty!!! He has all the great personality traits you could ever want. He can be sweet, a clown(is very funny), smart, crazy and very smart!

  • Jake is our "All American Kitty"! He is very smart and will sit on command and has learned how to use our Kitty Wheel...See video of Jake on the Cat wheel!

  • Glad you like our cats!! We love them to, of course...stay tuned, we should have some good videos in the upcoming weeks! We are going to try one of the CAT WHEELS!! Should be funny!!

  • wikicat,webs,com

  • Which one, the stripped one?

  • there are 2 stripped ones in this video. The one doing most the tricks is Jake....the other is more laid back, his name is Colby. Jake is the crazy one!

  • Do you think it's ok that bought my sister and i train the same cat or is it best with only one voise?

  • @erkahove95

yes it is fine. As long as you both use the same word and motions when teaching. anyone who has a treat and asks our cats to "shake" and say "other" for the other paw will have our cats shake with them!!

  • It's scary for me to lift my cat's paws. Is there any trick to teaching a biting cat to shake hands?

  • Just try to stick with it. Eventually they will learn not to bite and they will get the treat if they do what you are asking them.

  • thats how i taught my cat it works . after a while they do it their self

  • Another smart cat learns how to shake!

    Congrats!!

  • Those are great looking cats.

  • Thank you!! Most of our kitties are rescue cats. They were homeless, outside or they were born to a stray cat we took in. (did not know the cat we took in was pregnant!) Cats are very smart. It just takes a little time to train them to do tricks. Jake (in this video) can also sit on command!

  • i hate cats they just EAT and SLEEP nothing more and they can't learn ,

    dogs are the best !!

  • Cool trick!

Do the cat understand how to put her paw up by herself?

  • Yes! As you can see they understand the words(commands) I say. Jake can also sit on command! They are very smart, just more independent than dogs. If training you must be patient. They will learm!

  • @erkahove95 yes

  • ahh theyre a bit chubby tho?? so cuttte

  • Very Cool =D

  • Glad you liked the cat training video! Cats can learn tricks! They are smart!

  • im more of a dog person.. they learn faster and don't scratch

  • but cats can learn too!! Cats are smart, just can be stubborn.....have to use food or treats to get them to do tricks!

  • how long did it take for you to train one?

  • Do it several times daily, only a few minutes(few treats) at a time. Some cats can learn in as little as a few days or week. Others may take little longer,,but be persistant and do not give treat unless you shake paw(even if you have to do it yourself) soon they will learn they get treat if you give them paw...then you can move on to doing other paw(saying other)

  • PT HOAH!!

  • this is a realyy good vid thanks for posting but u was talking just a littal to quiet at first but im gunna try this and yh ur cat has one good name jake !! like me haha

  • My cat HATES it when i touch his paw why is that?

  • In what way does he react?

  • he yanks his hand away.

  • He may have something wrong with his pad. I would advise taking him to the vets for a check-up. Does he walk and run normally?

  • Yeah he walks normal runs super fast and runs a lot.

  • Try gently sliding your hand over his fore leg and then gently picking it up far away from the paw and tell me what his reaction is.

  • Your cat is fine and normal!! You will have to desensitize them so you can touch their paw. If declawed this can be more difficult but CAN be done! See other comment on how to do this. It could take days, weeks or even a couple of months so be patient!!!

  • No reason to take your cat to the vet unless he/she is limping, bleeding or you can see something visable.

  • Is your cat declawed? Sometimes declawed cats are very wierd about having their paws touched. If not declawed, some cats are sensitive about their paws. The best thing to do is when your cat is relaxed, sleeping(not fully awake or in playing mood) gently touch their shoulder (petting them) & work your way down their leg. Eventually you will be able to get further and further down their leg to their paw. This may take some time so you will have to be patient. Do this as much as possible each day

  • @TOXICSHARK35 hehh...maybe he just hate you..lol

  • is your cat declawed?

  • thanks man ive been wanting to teach my cat to shake since i got her! you rock!

  • No problem....let us know how it goes!!! Your cat will learn, then teach to do "other" and alternate as in the video!!

  • i have a cat name lola and she will not shake hands whith me.

  • Stay with it!! Be patient with kitty. Only do a couple of minutes at a time. Do it 2-4 times a day. Make sure she has not just eaten. Use something she really likes. Ours really like sliced turkey(from deli counter). She will eventually learn!!!

I know she can do it!

  • u should hav put the other cats in another room so the could concentrate!

  • FANTASTIC!!! The person above is having a harder time but give them some confidence because I believe they will all learn, some are just more stubborn!

  • really nice

  • Hey thanks!This is awsome!

  • You are welcome! Teaching cats to do tricks can be done, just takes some time and repetition!

  • @n4ktz yeah he is declawed but he runs normally.

  • cats are funny ^____^

  • Hey man! you ar awsome ! i like you and your cats ! you teach good!

  • want to train my cat, but he's not trainable... I trained him to reach.. well 'up' ... stand by his own on 2 legs so its adorable.. but he just see the treat and then he stans up, but I demostrate a fist like up then he doesnt does it... I dont know what to do..

  • You could train your cat to jump through a hoop! You can use treats or your cat's favouirte small toy. Message me if you're interested!

  • yeah that would be great if you could help me teaching my cat that!

  • I luved the video. its hilarious! and verry fun! my cat is not verry 'trainable'. I want to teach him the 'Shake' (in my country we say 'labas') I teach him, but he doesnt memorize it!. I teach him whole day. but the other day comes he doesnt know what to do!. (you can see hi min my videos) He's like a devil in our home.he's verry naughty.!! so how to train my cat

    and one more thing...

what words (in what language) do I have to teach my cat with.? THANK YOU VERRY MUCH!!

  • I teached my own cat how to stand up by my own.

  • Teaching your cat to shake is fun and easy! Jake, one of our kitties will now sit on command!! He is a smart cat!

  • Cleaner than dogs, dont have to wash them, dont have to walk them dont smell.....should I go on????We love all animals but cats are much easier than dogs. 1 dog is more work than 3 cats.

  • haha thats so cute! you have like 3 cats! i only have a kitten and im training him ! Thnx for the video!

  • Good Luck!!! I am sure your kitten will learn!! Just stay persistant and be patient.

  • how many times a day should i train mi cat??

  • Usually 2-3 times a day for 5 minute increments when they're in the mood. when they aren't, give up for that time and try again later that day.

  • at least 1 but I would say no more than 4. Use sessions of a few minutes each. 4 to 6 times (up to 8 or 9) giving a treat.
