  • All good people and great musicians and story tellers. There is a special place in music heven fr all these guys.

  • i just love about every song they do, always have since i was itty bitty!!!!

  • I wish there was good modern country music. This is a great song. Thanks for posting

  • This song hits home to many people in America, including myself. We work for years and when the economy gets bad, have nothing to show for it. Obama and his big government broken promises have done little to fix the problem. Instead of borrowing money from China and spending billions in U.S. tax dollars, that money should be used to take care of America and create new jobs. Sorry if I sound like Ron Paul in a congressional debate, but I pray he will become our next president in 2012.

  • One of the country songs that makes my heart beat faster, and I feel what the song says... I am broke but not broken... Are they ever gonna understand, Can't leave a workin' man... With nowhere to go! Because there's always a way! While I breathe there is hope. This is an anthem to hard work and industry.

  • that drummer is a genius i cant even spell it lol wow

  • I just heard this. My carpenter hubby and I both lost our jobs at Christmas with our first child on the way. We've had a tough 2010, and so far we've had a tough 2011 (including burying our most loved pet today).

This makes me think of my husband.

  • First time I saw the Dirt Band was in KC.. Cowtown Ball Room. The Opening Act was STEVE MARTIN!! Yes, the one and only. He'd do his King Tut, Arrows Thru the Head. Then The Dirt Band would come out. What a GREAT NIGHT!!

  • dedicate this to my dad...RIP

  • Jimmie Fadden, their drummer/harmonica player, wrote it. Pretty good for a guy who normally doesn't sing, right, gang? Hit #4 in Billboard, 7-9-88.

  • NO FARMS... NO FOOD...

  • I just saw NGDB in Chicago a couple of weeks ago and they are as good as ever. This song will always be a favorite of mine as I come from a a farming family.

  • one of my favorite songs

  • One last look at my land, auctioneer with gavel in hand and he says, It's got to go.

Worked this piece all my life, broke my heat then took my wife now I got. NOTHING TO SHOW.

Sad times. And we are still seeing sad times.

  • classic. love it

  • One of the best songs done by this band . They need to put it out there again because there are so many people who can relate to it now (unfortunately).

  • You have got to be kidding me. One of the best shows in human history, but Aspect Ratio?? Where's the original footage?

  • This IS THE FIRST BAND I EVER SAW, I WAS 15..., 1968.. STRINGED experts...kr

  • This is an example of the" machinery" being just that, ... ain' it cool... ? KR

  • such a beautifully talented group---wish they'd all stayed together-sad the didn't!

  • wonderfully beautiful song

  • miss you Jimmy......

  • Back when My dad was in the Marine Corp, He got to meet some of the band, and Gave a MC Tshirt to John(On the banjo). That shirt got stolen, and later at another concert back here in the states he saw the shirt again.. It was one my dad sent home to his mother and she was wearing it. She went and changed shirts and gave him the shirt to replace his.

  • timeless classic!!

  • "I am broke, not broken. I am not alone cause there is one force with no where to go" What a perfect line and the song ROCKS!

  • " I am broke, not broken, cause there is one force with no where to go" The best line in the song.....

  • good one

  • i been there, done that, and in the oil patch in 82 it was that way. thank you ss73ss whoever you are, the cycle hurts no matter how old you get, or what you seen. its allways boom or bust. it bites, but it is what it is.!you make an awesome statement reminding folks of the facts.

  • This song brings a tear to my eyes, half of my friends are laid off and I consider myself blessed to be able to bring home a paycheck during these hard times. We try to at least buy groceries for them. I wish I could pay their bills for them

    to keep them afloat.......

  • @bmwgsadv I am with you. Very sad times. "I am broke but not broken, I am not alone cause theres alot folks......with nowhere to go.......Are they ever gonna understand, you can't leave a working man with no where to go."

    I don't think they understand.
