@NSM1035 My dogs love music & singing along (even though my harmonica playing is terrible). My beagle gets up and sits next to a speaker if harmonica music is playing, & will quietly sing/howl along. I researched why dogs howl, and everything says that it is NOT because it hurts their ears. That's a common myth, though. If they didn't like it, they would try to get away. Pets(dot)ca says "It's a form of communication. They are not doing this because it hurts their ears."
It was kinda funny to see her confused, but your harmonica playing hurt your dogs' sensitive ears; that's why they howled! D:
