  • excellent video kid thumbs up

  • Still looking for train vids where someone isn't constantly playing with the zoom.

  • Nice vid jimmy! it f40cat heaven, wish we get them on the coastline and trying to record one for sounds to add to my F40ph-2cat in HO scale.

  • they should restore c&o 4-8-4 614 and run express trains on njt

  • @FatSeal45 Uh, what?

  • @FatSeal45 Why?

  • If you can do better why are you not videoing things. The video is VERY self explanitory. Yes a train derailed on a main passenger line and clogged up the route. Thats about it. Plus it shows NJT's ability to deal with problems and still maintain some type of service

  • oh yeha, NJT can dealw ith problems really well. They adapt very quickly to situations like this. But is still was a hassle for every commuter as well as crew member

  • Please clearly explain what happened in (more info).

We outsiders don't know the names nor where the places are.

A train derailed and blocked other trains?

    Cause of derailment?

Glad you use tripod for nice, steady videoing.

Tip: Zoom out before moving camcorder/tripod.

While moving, hold camcorder pointing it in the desired direction, even though not aiming it.

The tripod will steady the camcorder while you move it.

    Nice steady videos!

  • What kind of scanner do you use and what freq. is njt on?

  • I use a old Radio Shack PRO-29 60-channel scanner, it doesnt get much, but it was free so ill take it for now. NJT is 161.400o

  • you should be a hobo... just go across the country, ridin' the rails.

  • well he kinda is due to the fact that he lives in the bushes at Ho Ho Kus (Inside joke) lol

  • And out of all this u even got a Comet III cab

  • Cool! Love NJT! And N.J. to railfan in!Good Videos!

  • Holy S**t Jimmy is the engineer of that derailemnt ok

  • God, i remember that day, everything got fucked up, and as usual, NS was the cause of it

  • Great job with camera and naration. Just to let you know they may have had to make a reverse move to clear a signal, that's why the Conductor would have been in the locomotive. The conductor will turn on the headlights ditchlights (crossing lights) and sound bell and horn. Most importantly he tells the engineer if he is clear to reverse and how far and fast he can move. Come to Dover station in the morning you'll see and hear it all the time.

  • that is true, I have seen it done before in cabcars, and thanks for the comment. The conductor contacted me later on and told me in was just a problem with the loco

  • Good photography!

Well framed, you lead the movement, steady, nice job.

Also, thank you for explaining what happened.

Any news on the cause of the derailed train?

  • thsnk you! I don't think it was the best, this derailment was caused by razor--sharp flanges on the yellow center-beam...which after the deraiolmet, sat in Waldwick yard until NS replaced the truck, thanks for NJT restricting it nuntil that was done

  • What happen with the NS Crash?

  • U live near a busy railroad.

Here in my area, there is a so called "Main Line".

But only 2-3 trains a day (light), & prob more & night.

  • yeah I live 2 miles from the ridgewood station and 2.3 miles from WJ, where this was taken, and it sees about 150-160 trains a day, with a additional 6 freights (locals) and 2 mainfests on tuesday and thursday

  • Wow lots of NJT F40's! Did I mention that you have a wonderful camera? Really nice videos.

  • yeah i know, and thanks

  • have you seen NJ Transit Bilevel test on youtube the bilevels are the same height as the pl42ac locomotives so then why cant they change are they to lazy

  • yes, but the bi-levels are 6 inches taller, and for some reason, that means they can't go into the Bergen Tunnels, another thing a guy at the train club told me, they are love to the grond, and with the platforms at Hoboken, there are only 2 tracks the can go into without scrapping the side of the car on the platform. because they make wide turns, onlt the 2 tracks you can go streight into in hoboken (I think 14 and 15) that can happen.

  • The Multi-Levels have no clearence issues in the Bergen Tunnels. Who ever told you that is misinformed. The only location on the railroad with issues is the Train Sheds in Hoboken. Currently they only fit on 3 tracks without modification. Crews are working now and then to make the proper adjustments to the platforms.

  • sorry In couldn't make it today!! I'm really sorry, and I hope you didn't go out of your way to be there.

  • have you seen NJ Transit Bilevel test on youtube the bilevels are the same height as the pl42ac locomotives so then why cant they change are they to lazy what are the red marker light mean on the trains & do the

    u34ch's have only one light

  • I have seen it, and yes the U34CHs had 1 red light in between the cab windows above them, my HO scale model doesn't have a marker light because Atlas, in 1999-2000something was to lazy to make it accuate so the used a U33C shell, which is pretty acurate, they were converted U33Cs, but not totally, so I need to do some work to the U34Ch and put some lights in.

  • Pretty much the only thing wrong with the U33C/U36C body is the U34CH never had dynamic brake intake vents behind the cab. Everything else (with the exception to no nose light and the placement of the bell) is pretty good.

  • I supose Ben and you talked about the U34Chs too, he never shuts up about them, great engines though

  • have you seen the video it is really good

  • have you seen the old u34ch locomotives i wish i could seen one go down the tracks now some one has recorded it in ridewood search u34ch on youtube and look for ridewood i like the last train

  • U34CHs are one of my many favorites. I love them, I was born the in November 1994, Nov, 14th, they just had stopped running them!

  • i saw a bilevel test train go past my dads store it looked like it had no problems

  • it is by the cell tower on 208 follow ceder hill up from wortendyke station

  • Nice action as allways!!!

  • Ho! A Comet III! Niceeeee

  • yup, I was happy too!

  • are they going to put the bilevels on the bergen county line i like them

  • no, they can't go through the Bergen Tunnels. It sucks, I would acctually like that!

  • did you ever go on the train with kevin. have you seen njt 1001 the new locomotive it is on google it is nice looking

  • I have seen 1001, it's ugly, the FHs are better, and no I haven't with kevin yet...and I'm not suposed to say anything about it online...so I have to remove this message...sorry!

  • if your ever in wyckoff walk to eisenhower iddel school i live by their and we can talk about trains

  • ok, cool, where abouts is that

  • is service back to normal or are they behind today
