Cherry thinks the All Star game is serious business? No, it's a promotional game for fans and for fun. It's entertainment. No 2 points involved.

At least some fans gave enough of a damn to take this as far as they did. They clearly told the NHL that they wanted Rory Fitzpatrick, the NHL acknowledged that they wanted Rory Fitzpatrick, and the NHL actively denied them Rory Fitzpatrick.

So... What was the point of letting people vote in the first place if you won't acknowledge their choice?

Don Cherry talks like he knows everything, but honestly who is he?

he was a worthless hockey players and he's only known for coach's corner, and that's cause of his harsh criticism on players that no other commentators is willing to do.

He was a NHL Coach for Boston Bruins in the Orr era and led them to two Stanley Cup finals. Also won Jack Adams award one time, pretty OK record to be honest.

Yes he's had some accomplishments, but that doesn't mean he is always right. Honestly if he was coaching he'd only have a team with Canadians on it.

i feel sorry for rory fitzpatrick, he has been taken on a rollercoaster ride of emotion and he probly has no clue why. he's an average player who 1 fan loves to death and was determined to get into the all star game. i no points aren't his best thing but in all honest, how can a guy with 10 career goals in 287 games be an allstar? he has also been a - for plus/minus every year in his career except 1. his career began in 1995 yet he has only played 287 games!? he obviously isn't a star player.

Don Cherry is a stupid old man, the whole thing was started by die hard hockey fans that wanted a grinder in the game, nothing wrong with that. Some of the hardest working players in the NHL only play a handfull of shifts but serve one of the most important roles of the team. NOBODY that plays in the NHL should be considered as a joke for the all star game, they are all far too talented. If you can handle a season in the NHL, you can certainly hold your own in the all star game.
