  • Best song ever!

  • This makes me think of Twilight. I began listening to this song when the film came out!!

  • This song gets extra credit for increasing the "wistful melancholy" potential of anyone's supermarket or pharmacy shopping trip.

  • What a wonderful song. This one hits the spot. Love it!!!

  • Take 2 e pills, play this song, and call me in the morning...

  • @UnholierThanTao Well, if you are an attractive woman, I will take 2 e pills, play this song, and call you in an hour..lol

  • @YaMamaHughJazz Sorry, I'm a dude... but I love your comment. LOL !

  • I prefer it to the TinTinOut version

  • I HAVE THIS ALBUM......AMAZING!! WORTH EVERY PENNY.....XOXO

  • Όμορφο τραγουδάκι! πόσο καιρό είχα να το ακούσω!...

  • harriet, one of the greatest women in rock.

  • it makes me think of twilight

  • Nice song... Just enough of a hook to give it that pop sound, but just a classic fun song.

  • Iona is the little souvenir of a terrible year.Love you now and always my love.My daughter, my angel, my blue eyed love.I held you first in my arms when you were born.andi will love you always.

  • An irresistible song that paved the way for the Cranberries.

  • I adore The Sundays.

  • tahnxx sa ng upload..kung sinu ka man..MABUHAY KA!!!

  • This song reminds me of a brisk fall day in Chapel Hill NC back in '92. Nice...

  • @mrubiquitous hey i get that too with songs, where a song makes you think of a place and time. thought i was the only weirdo out there lol!

  • sweeeet!

  • Wow..this brings back memories..those were the good ol days.. It made me smile..

  • beautiful xx

  • I mentioned this group to a friend. She said "Sure, sometimes retro stuff is good."

    I am officially old now.

  • @123gwf Retro stuff is good all the time man. Music nowadays has a lifespan of couple of months even less.

  • Yeah, they don't make music like they used to anymore. Today's so-called talent consists of making people that can't sing sound like robots that can't sing!

  • I could definitley put this in a skate vid.

  • Picked up Reading, Writing and Arithmetic the day it was released and played the shit out of the album! Still find The Sundays music meaningful after all these years! Terrific stuff!

  • This just makes me want to pick flowers and frolic in the grass

  • @inlight4evr i so love your comment..... made me smile...

  • People should be made to listen to this song for punishment. Too bad we no longer have public stockades. If we did, we could lock this group in them and throw rotten fruit and vegetables at them.

  • @RealDaytonDeals yeah it's a girl song--kinda like stay by lisa loeb or lovefool by cardigans--so u'll either think it's pretty or pretty horrible (dep. on taste)

  • Of course I heard this first on KROQ but now they've moved on to all the new bands. At least they still announce artists & Tracks so you can buy a cd like this one and capture the essence of a moment or era.

  • A summer in London that I will never forget! Love this.

  • a Gem...i was 16 years old when this song came out. Everyone was so original and unique in their own Beautiful Ways, Thus, The Sundays...a beautiful voice and sound.

  • I tried to ask out a girl who sounded just like this when she sing. so when i first heard this band they had a bit of an impact on me.

  • Harriet Wheeler =D

  • 2000 decade is probably the worst decade of all time. People like to think that it wasn't that bad compared to the 40's or 60's where there was alot of violence, but the 2000's was culturally void and dead, a dystopia not akin to 1984 but more like "a brave new world". Everyone was just shallow and dead inside, it was a decade of true narcissism and mediocrity and it still persists.

  • takes me back to when i was a kid in the backseat of the car on a family roadtrip. so relaxing.

  • I love this.

  • what a great song...i cant believe she doesnt have another hit...with a voice like that it should be easy for them to make more hits...song rocks tho....

  • Bellissima canzone e bellissima voce!

  • simplesmente sinfonia...

  • This would make great incidental music in a movie.

  • What a cool song ! Summer time , cruising with the top down and your arm around your girl . Is that goosebumps I feel ? Thank you for sharing !

  • Passei anos procurando pelo cd, pois conheci esta música em 1987, na rádio Liberdade, programa o melhor do pop internacional. Sem dúvida, inimitável.

  • Man. I was 19 years old when this came out. 1st year of college, no bills, no kids, no nothing. I don't want to go back, but what memories.

  • I had this CD back in the day... when I left the ex-boyfriend I left him all my CDs... now I don't miss them, but I do miss the music... So thank you for uploading this!! (short story long, LOL)

  • @wasabiluver Don't feel so bad about losing your CDs to an ex-bf. At least your car wasn't broken into, your CD stolen plus 25 others of the same genre in a case, along with your six-month-old new CD car stereo. The only consolation being, no windows were broken and the thieves considerate enough to leave a Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg CD to bake on the dash :-/

  • @wasabiluver

Funny ... il was just thinking listening to the beginning of the song that i didn't have the CD anymore... It was one of those i left my ex-ex girlfriend...

  • Really, at close listen it sounds like The Smiths with Susanna Hoffs on vocals! Catchy stuff.

  • @Numberoneblind....Yeah i completely totally agree music in 2000 genre really sucked..

  • Lovely! Just plain lovely! I saw the video on 120 minutes on VH1 Classic and it brought memories of my late teen years. It gives me chills.

  • don't hate on GAGA, and Rhina has a voice. But, ya, when you turn this on, they get shit on :)

  • LADY GA GA SUX compared to this....this is real talent folks.

  • damn! i miss the 80 's really bad !!! i just wish i could travel back in time to enjoy my youth one time! this song really brings back a lot of happy memories.

  • Nice tune.. so much better than that crap Tin Tin out, churned out 10 years later.

  • muy buen tema

  • This song sounds like homosexuality.

  • Still have the cassette...oh 1990 i miss ya !!

  • This is one song that actually gets better as it goes on.

  • very nostalgic, ending of something ..friendship..innocence..great for that era..and this time of the year reminds me of that!

  • DAMN THIS IS AN AWESOME SONG!!!!

  • the best decade of the century is the 80's... no doubt..

  • Hmm just heard this in Universal Studios Hollywood while walking.

  • My mother just passed away and this song was playing when I got into the van and the radio came on.

  • @jonsey617 sorry to here about your mother

  • @IHATEPRINCETON Thank you

  • music like this -warms my soul

  • bela musica otima banda!!

  • i love her voice it is so light and resting to.

  • good stuff! Man, Im an old woman!

  • @kellygoo72 You're not :) I'm 20 and I love The Sundays!

  • I'm going back to '89-'97 and see these guys in concert. It's gonna be awesome!

  • @T1m3tr4v3l3r I saw them at the Avalon in Boston right before they broke up...AMAZING...Harriet Wheeler can sing....

  • @chicane620 wow, you're lucky. I didn't get into them until 2002. I found a copy of Blind in a used bookstore(I had a memory from the early 90's of someone saying how good they were) and have been hooked ever since.

  • @chicane620 they broke up?!! I thought they were a family band.

  • agrees with #1 blind.

  • Reading, writing and arithmatic was released on January 15 1990, so they were performing "Heres where the story ends" in the 80's, recorded in the 80's, definitley written in the 80's as it was released in Australia in 89, and was a U.S. promo in 89, but I don't think the decade is really important. While there is always more than enough shit music in any decade, this band wansn't one of the bands making any of it. That's just my opinion..

  • @snoozeterminal I meant here so you can look at them while watching the vid, but thnx :)

  • esta muy bueno¡¡¡

  • Lyrics, please? I love this song...

  • You should get an award for posting this on youtube.

  • great voice...this song I really liked back then...still do

  • Stil love the Sundays. Another great singer songwriter. One of my favourite bands and albums from the 80's . Who said they sucked? Thanks for the post.

  • This is from 1990...

  • Good song but the album Reading Writing & Arithmetics (1990) is a little too overestimated.

  • Hello, this album in 1990 was in the context pop melodie of this years, with their particular sound to them, good dreampop, thanks, bye.

  • I love her voice

  • i say, good show good show ;)

  • ummm Who's Helen? Do you mean Harriet?

  • Helen wheeler shes a fine singer

  • good jam

  • 80's rule. Sorry but for me the 90's sucked for music with the exception of the smashing pumpkins and No doubt cuz everyone sounded like everyone else and in the 80's NO ONE sounded like the other band. :)

  • I know this cooment is 4 months old, but what about NIN, are you saying they sucked in the 90s?

  • no they just sucked period..

  • I completely disagree with that. Nirvana, Sheryl Crow, Green Day, Garbage, Liz Phair, Veruca Salt, Third Eye Blind I mean I could go on and on and none of these artists sounded alike. I think the only decade thats failed in music so far is the 2000's

  • Fail.

You simply don't know a shit about 2000 music. There's great music in each and every decade...

  • @BeWaTer99 hahaha no this the 2000's just had shitty music overall. There are some good bands but none compared to bands of the decades before it and music took a serious step backwards during the last decade and I know plenty about 2000's music and music in general. One I can compose music and two I grew up with crappy ass 2000's music. But i'm glad that you were able to add an intelligent and articulate point of view to my old ass comment. Good job, Bewater.

  • It's all a matter of knowing where to look at. I still know plenty of great bands in the 00's... there's not such a thing like "bad decade" regarding music.

    Yours faithfully.

  • Uh have you turned on your radio? But I guess I should be more clear since some people's brains can't seem to understand that i'm referring to "Mainstream" music and what the majority of people are into. Duh you can always find good bands if you look for them! But in the other decades you didn't really have to look as hard. So as far as music goes last decade was still crap in my book. I'm glad we now see eye to eye BeWater :)

  • It depends on the radio channel as well. There are some alternative music radio channels in my country (Spain).

  • Well in the United States music on the radio has suffered within the last decade. There are too many meaningless artists to count. Perhaps thats why we see both kinda see things differently. I wouldn't imagine Spain as having a ton of over-processed meaningless music except the music from over here.

  • @Numberoneblind

I totally agree with you Numberoneblind about this wasteful music today. I hate it! it freaking sucks ass. Where has all the memorible music that touches your soul went???

  • @Starletdempsy I dunno but i'm being hopeful. It's kind of a general consensus between alot of people that today's music is really lacking and usually when that happens we get an uprising of artists that try to bring that back so i'm hoping that that happens within this decade. i'm crossing my fingers for it!

  • @BeWaTer99

Oh I see, you live in Europe which means the music is on a level different from the U.S. The American music has been very bad so far in the mainstream. Indie is a different story here in the states.

  • @BeWaTer99 Yeah it has been bad. I like alot of 90's music and that got me through my teens in the mid 2000's but now I still find myself either listening to 90's music or trying very hard to find something from the last decade. I just wish that I could have a current artist excites me as much as the sundays or any other 90's band did. I'm hoping that eventually record companies start promoting good artists again.

  • @Numberoneblind You are wrong the 2000's had Spoon KTML, Radiohead's kid A, Funeral by Arcade Fire, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot from Wilco, The National, The 88, Animal Collective, and tons more you just have to look for it now because the radio sucks.

  • @CaptinPenguin I can't be any more wrong than you can be right...music is after all subjective. I simply prefer 90's music. A lot of 2000's band are just lacking in my opinion. Some are good but they just don't have the same songwriting style of 90's bands. Arcade Fire is great though I have to say. I look for a good portion of my music though seeing as I didn't really listen to 90's music IN the 90's.

  • @CaptinPenguin I agree with Captin Penguin! There is also Modest Mouse, Iron and Wine, Grizzly Bear, Akron/Family, Langhorne Slim, Old Crow Medicine Show, Clap your Hands Say Yeah, godspeed you black emperor, Belle and Sebastian (their early stuff), First Aid Kit, Thievery Corporation, Blown Load, The Unknown Hinson, Gogol Bordello, The World of Skin, Elvis Perkins, Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, The Dead Weather, The White Stripes, Mason Jennings, And I'm just getting started!!!! too many!!!

  • @Numberoneblind yeah! who can tell the difference between lady caca, rhiana, black eye peas etc etc etc?

  • @Numberoneblind got that right, 2000s music was the lamest ever

  • @Numberoneblind So many people think the generation they live in sucks musically . . . but as time passes . . . and the shitty music is filtered away, leaving us with a higher percentage of good music, the sentiment usually changes. I can tell you right now, that there are countless amazing bands out there right now that many people never hear about because they are so fixated on main stream media. Akron/Family, The Avett Brothers, Angels of Light, Wolf Mother, MGMT (their first album), etc ...

  • @Numberoneblind But that's because you have shit taste. Those artists are awful, aside from Nirvana, who are just alright.

  • @Diesel680 LMAO. Nah, my musical tastes are broad and top notch. Otherwise I would have never had any interest in this fine band. :)

  • @Diesel680 garbage are awful? errrr...no

  • @Numberoneblind Lol, you obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

  • @zipppit89 Oh, but I so do ;)

  • @Numberoneblind Belly, Ride, Pavement, Eric's Trip, The Breeders, Tori Amos, etc.....Great decade

  • @Trund27 Agreed.

  • @Numberoneblind Belly, Ride, Pavement, Eric's Trip, The Breeders, Tori Amos, Sugar, etc.....Great decade

  • @Numberoneblind You are absolutely right!!! your 47th Thumbs Up!

  • @Numberoneblind unless if metal counts, then black metal and death metal gained mainstream acceptance take opeth and lamb of god, they are metal but do not sound alike

  • tsaka un JOEY by concrete blonde?

  • long live mga batang 80's! we rule!

  • just been checking your posts.think the reason i like them is that we have very similar tastes.thanks

  • Bro, meron ka kayang "Til on Paper" ng band "3 o'clock" (hindi ako sure). Baka pwedeng pa post naman. Thanks.

  • Nice voice

  • One of my favorite songs, ever!
