@zacklikewhoa yo im taking a course on law. In canada we got 3 different rankings. Highest to lowest. Federal, Provincial, and Municiplal. The US laws are way different from are law so those laws arent applicable in canada. All those movies we watch, and the music we hear is mostly of the states law. In other form its useless. But very neat to understand different laws. And Canada and UK laws are the SAME to let yall know. 1.

like i said before..im from the uk so my law study is useless in the states....but if i were to guess...i think you answered your own question....state charges are applicable/enforceable/carried out by the state(summary charge) and federal would be the more serious charge(indictable)...but thats just a guess...lol.

Federal charges are brought by the United States, a federal offense.
