  • my god, the memories

  • No wonder this was my favorite kid's show ever! Worth waking up for before 6am. Fang-tastic!

  • Wow I was watching this as a little fellow nearly 40 years ago. Oh the memories. Good times good times....

  • We believe in The Wolf!

  • What a tease. Should have let it run longer.

  • I like open lines. They're fantastic.

  • @Ypipable what did't turn spanish in Chicago? thanks for the info!

  • I'm from Chicago & don't remember this show?

    I love it though.

What station was this broadcast from & what area?

Also did they make a DVD of it?

  • @Godzie1 It was on channel 44, before it turned into a spanish channel.

  • @Godzie1 I don't think it is, which is why I'm here. I can dig it.

  • @Ypipable Back in the 60s, 70s & 80s I digged it too. But the 90s changed the NW side to Taco Bell. Sad! They were nice neighborhoods! I'm not racist but it was combined to all nationalities in my years. But it all changed now. :( That smoking ban is vicious there now. I'll never go back again not even to visit.

  • @Godzie1 A smoking ban merely causes everybody to stay up late for my sponsors.

  • @Godzie1 It was produced and recorded at CHCH TV in Hamilton Ontario in the early 70's I loved it then and still love watching reruns :)

Having Vincent Price as a regular on the show certainly didn't hurt ratings either!

  • Billy Van, was in a class all by himself. He was a very talented man and watching him brings back a lot of nice memories.

  • I loved the Wolfman, and Igor! But, man, this show totally scared the crap out of me when I was young, even though I kept watching it. Vincent Price, holy bejezus!

  • Miss this fun, silly kind of comedy. Loved the show!

  • It just occurred to me that my earliest exposure to "classic rock" came from this show. I used to watch this show REALLY early in the morning as a little kid. Having this show on the tube even before the sun was up and everyone else was awake was, in retrospect, one of the greatest things EVER!

  • @burf69 wow! that is how i remember it too! whenever i would ask someone if they remember this show, i always say it was on before the sun came up! there was another cartoon that was also on real early called the wonderful world of oz! that is a fading memory!

  • Is not familar

  • Billy Van was (still is) in a league of his own. Awesome.

  • i love this show

  • This was such a good show. And brings back so much memories. It's been over 25 years since I watched this show. Another classic much like G.I. Joe and Transformers.

They should do a show like this again. But then again, nobody will be like Billy Van. He was the best. Portraying 10 characters to perfection. Just awesome stuff. He should've been on SNL or something.

I guess perhaps who could follow in his footsteps are people like Mike Myers, Will Farrel, Ben Stiller, etc.

  • This is like my fav show evr! I'm pround to say it's canadian too! Wolfman, next to Vinnie is my fav! I watch it every morning before school!

  • Yea "chime time" was what 77 WABC in NYC used to do. They had a jingle that would have a boxing ring bell strike just one time then the disc jockey would say, "the WABC chime time is 9:22 or whatever time it was. He is making fun of it with that giant bell. That was kinda funny if you got the reference.

  • This must have been a later version. I remember the Jumping Jack Flash episode quite well, and he even told the year - "why that's a really oldie goldie way back in 1969"!

The one thing I never did get was... What time did he say it was????

  • chime time?

  • Jumping Jack Flash was released in 1968 and the Wolfman said "golden oldies" to keep the show to date. The show was done from 1970 to 1971, so after 10 years and onward, it becomes a "golden oldie" :)

  • I gotta have more cowbell.

  • i thought wolfman jack was an actual wolfman because of this character when i was a kid

  • The Wolfman rocked!!

  • this was my favorite part of the show!

  • I love that line "I AM The wolfman"

  • Yup, I do recall this well. Billy Van did all the characters

  • OMG, I can't believe somebody posted the Wolfman. An image of him dancing to "Games People Play" in front of a psychedelic background has been permanently etched in my memory...

  • WOW as a kid it was like being on Acid loved this show thankls CHCH Ch 11

  • Haha what's even more funny is that you can relate to being on acid. I know what you mean!

  • this was the best show on at the time, I lived in Western NY and was fortunate enough to get CHCH 11

  • Yeah I remember that....Hamilton. I used to watch a lot of "Buffalo we're four" and stuff like that. Buffalo channels, CHCH and a host of others.
