Love the theme which starts at 1:37 to 2:20 and elsewhere... so subtle, but sinister! Beautiful... Thanks Steven Sondheim! Yes, Phantom of the Opera was great, too... certain songs are wonderful. Funny how the "darker" musicals are sometimes the most beautiful! Oh well.. the uplifting, happy ones are good, too. Something for every mood.

Couple things:

1. Don't immediately love everythin' Mr. Burton does. Individual thinking is a good thing.

2. Sweeney Todd, I think, was a great movie, except for the throat slicing scenes, which made me cover MY eyes.

3. Johnny Depp is a cult. Nothin' against him, but....cult.

I must agree with the first and last statements but I liked all the scenes, so I can't agree with the second. Johnny Depp is a cult, and with too many members that are really too young for him. He's, what, fourty? Too old for all the teens and tweens to obsess over like that. I mean, I loved his acting in this movie and the PotC but I don't know how it's worth obsession.

I also prize individual thinking, buut Ive always danced to the beat of a different drummer than the one everyone else seems to march to. Dunno why they even pretend that they're not mob-minded.
