Our current leaders just shows how selfish they are thinking only of themselves while seeing the people who trusted them suffering from incidents like ondoy. Leaders that would treat other leaders to expensive dinners just to show face not thinking that the resources that they spent would have been able to help more people than just their bellies.

Helping people is not just through monetary units but through educating them on how to survive on their own. MOney is part of it however if people don't know how to use it properly the cycle of poverty will never stop. LEt us all aim for a sustainable program that aims to promote educating people and hopefully leaders would also get educated that they are not in those positions just for decorations.

and one factor that i have learned is that some of the land was near laguna de bay was illegally purchased for those who migratede from the province...it was illegal because the land was in the danger zone of laguna bay..urban planners calls it "wet lands" meaning it supposed to absorbed excess water from the lake...eh wala na..sementado na yung lugar at madami ng bahay..

no problem...its just sad that the urban planners proposal is some what similar of what Singapore looks right now - lots of open spaces, good flood control like catch basins and spill ways...well here politics means winning many votes thats why they just let those things happen..

i cried when i saw this video. hope makaahon ang pilipinas sa matinding dagok na ito. i heard from the news there's one more typhoon coming. will our country survive? Lord pls help my country. lucky my family back there in philippines was not affected.

I agree with you. I saw a lot of garbage piled up everywhere in Makati area by the trainl rail like Quirino highway. I told my driver that when it rain hard, its going to flood terribly. Anyway, I still feel sorry for those people that had been affected by the flood.

sad part is sometimes garbage collecting is done by bidding from a contractor and is a very good room for corruption...but despite all of these..Many Filipinos stand tall and choose to be hereos for those who are in need...
