tmgunter is correct. when the sandman first came out, it would stop the opponent dead in their tracks, with the duration based on the distance between the scout and victim. It could also stun ubers, resulting in it being banned from competitive play. valve removed the full stun (except for max distance hits) and replaced it with a stagger that kept the opponent from shooting and reduced their speed, and removed the ability to stun ubers. and to both of you, quit trolling.

In fact, the ONLY patch to the Sandman before the upload date consisted of the following changes: "Removed the damage reduction against non-stunned enemies on the new bat.

Fixed the BONK! particles appearing in the air when the bat's taunt kill is used on a target."

The way I look at it, if someone like you is calling me a "faggot" I must be doing something right.

For what it's worth, I was wrong about the date of the change (it was Dec 2009, not Apr 2010, I was reading the changelogs wrong), but the fact is that at the time this video was made the Sandman caused a full stun that left you completely immobilized from all distances.

It can't have been that way since the game came out, because there wasn't a stun effect at all at that point.

@ultraconclot First of all, when the game came out there was no Sandman. The first time it came out, when you stunned an opponent, it immobilized them completely. Being unable to move, the player having the advantage to do whatever to their opponent as they are stunned. Now, after Valve fixed the Sandman stun, players can run away from the opponents, unless hit from maximum distance.
